General Manager – Luxury 5-Star Hotel in Milan
Location: Milan, Italy
Salary: Up to £170,000 + package
We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead a prestigious luxury 5-star hotel in Milan, with a particularly strong focus on Food & Beverage, guest experience and commercial performance. This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for an experienced luxury hotelier who combines operational excellence with a genuine passion for F&B; and understands how exceptional restaurants, bars and guest experiences can become a defining part of a hotel's identity.
Reporting to the senior leadership team, the General Manager will have overall responsibility for the hotel's operation, financial performance, people and guest experience.
A significant part of the role will be focused on F&B; strategy and performance, ensuring the hotel's restaurants, bars, events and in-room dining are commercially successful, operationally excellent and positioned at the highest level of the Milan luxury market.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall operation of the hotel, ensuring exceptional 5-star service and standards across all departments.
- Develop and execute the hotel's commercial strategy, with particular emphasis on Food & Beverage revenue, profitability and positioning.
- Drive the performance and evolution of the hotel's restaurants, bars, lounges, banqueting and events.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and F&B; leadership to create compelling concepts, menus and guest experiences.
- Build a strong reputation for the hotel within Milan's luxury hospitality,
restaurant and lifestyle scene.
- Maximise profitability while maintaining uncompromising luxury standards.
- Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing management team and wider hotel workforce.
- Maintain a strong focus on guest satisfaction, service culture and luxury brand standards.
- Develop relationships with key guests, VIPs, owners, partners and influential local stakeholders.
- Oversee budgets, forecasting, P&L; performance, capital expenditure and operational planning.
- Identify new commercial opportunities and ensure the hotel remains competitive within Milan's rapidly evolving luxury market.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Italian regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- Previous General Manager or Hotel Manager experience within luxury 5-star hospitality.
- Strong operational and commercial leadership experience.
- A demonstrable track record of delivering outstanding F&B; performance.
- Deep understanding of luxury restaurants, bars, events and contemporary hospitality.
- Strong financial and P&L; management skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication and people-development abilities.
- A sophisticated understanding of the luxury customer and international clientele.
- Strong commercial awareness and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- The ability to balance the demands of hotel operations with the creativity and pace of a high-profile F&B; business.
- Experience in Italy or a strong understanding of the Italian luxury hospitality market would be highly advantageous.
- Fluency in Italian and English.
