Listed on the Italian Stock Exchange and recognised as a European leader in its sector, the Group operates across several international markets and has established an excellent record of growth. The Group is now looking to appoint a Group Controller & Head of FP&A; , reporting directly to the Group CFO.
The opportunity
This is a highly visible Finance leadership role with responsibility for Group management reporting, forecasting, budgeting and performance analysis across the Italian and international businesses.
The successful candidate will become a key partner to the CFO, providing the financial insight required to support senior management and the Board. They will take ownership of consolidated monthly reporting, short-term forecasting through to EBITDA, the annual budget and medium-term planning.
The role will also contribute directly to the continuing evolution of the Finance function, improving processes, management information and systems and helping the Group develop a more integrated and scalable reporting environment.

This is a senior appointment, but not a role for someone who wishes to operate only through a large team.
The Group has a lean and fast-moving organisation in which senior people remain close to the business and to the detail. The successful candidate must therefore be comfortable moving between discussions with the CFO and Board, coordinating Finance teams across different countries and personally reviewing data, building analyses or resolving reporting issues when required.
It will particularly suit an accomplished controller who combines technical authority and leadership ability with energy, pragmatism and a strong sense of personal ownership.
The ideal background
Candidates are likely to have approximately 10 to 15 years of experience in management control, FP&A; or Group Finance, including several years in a management or functional leadership position.
They should bring:
Experience of consolidated management reporting across multiple companies,
business units or countries
Strong forecasting, budgeting and performance-analysis capabilities
A sound understanding of IFRS and the relationship between management and statutory reporting
Advanced Excel skills and practical exposure to ERP systems
The ability to lead experienced Finance professionals and influence senior stakeholders
Fluent Italian and very good English
Candidates may come from a wide range of corporate backgrounds, including listed, privately owned, family-owned or private equity-backed groups, as well as complex divisional or regional Finance environments. More important than any particular ownership structure is evidence of operating successfully across multiple companies, business units or countries, together with the ability to combine senior-level influence with a genuinely hands-on approach.
