With six distinctive restaurants and bars, including a rooftop Mandarin Bar with sweeping city views, the property will blend tranquil residential charm with contemporary Roman sophistication. /ph3About the job /h3pbPurchasing Manager /b is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day procurement activities of the hotel, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services while maintaining Mandarin Oriental quality standards. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role plays an important part in supporting the operational and financial success of Mandarin Oriental, Rome through effective supplier management, inventory control and purchasing best practices. /ph3As Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties: /h3ulliManage the day-to-day purchasing activities of the hotel, ensuring efficiency, accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures. /liliSource goods and services in accordance with operational requirements,



quality standards and approved budgets. /liliDevelop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers to ensure service excellence, competitive pricing and reliable delivery. /liliObtain competitive quotations and support contract negotiations to maximise value and cost effectiveness. /liliMonitor supplier performance and work proactively to identify opportunities for service improvements and cost savings. /liliOversee inventory and stock control processes, maintaining appropriate stock levels while minimising waste and loss. /liliEnsure all purchasing documentation, records and approvals are completed accurately and in line with internal control requirements. /liliCollaborate closely with Restaurants, Bars Experience, Rooms Division, Engineering and Finance teams to support daily operational needs. /liliSupport the implementation and continuous improvement of purchasing systems, procedures and controls. /liliMonitor procurement expenditure and prepare regular reports on purchasing activity, supplier performance and cost-saving initiatives. /liliSupervise and develop members of the Purchasing team, providing guidance, training and support to ensure high performance. /liliPromote sustainable and responsible sourcing practices in line with Mandarin Oriental's environmental and social commitments. /liliContribute to the successful opening and ongoing operation of one of Rome's most anticipated luxury hospitality destinations. /li /ulh3As Purchasing Manager, we expect from you:



/h3ulliA minimum of 4-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain management within luxury hospitality or a related industry. /liliPrevious experience in a purchasing supervisory or management position within a hotel environment. /liliStrong commercial awareness with experience in supplier management, cost control, purchasing processes and contract administration. /liliDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment. /liliExcellent negotiation, organisational and relationship-building skills. /liliStrong analytical skills with the ability to review purchasing data, identify trends and support informed decision-making. /liliExperience working with procurement systems, inventory management and hotel purchasing procedures. /liliProven ability to supervise, coach and develop colleagues while fostering a collaborative team environment. /liliExcellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across departments. /liliStrong command of written and spoken English and Italian. /liliHigh levels of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail. /li /ulh3Our commitment to you: /h3ullibLearning Development. /b Your success is our success.
