You will work closely with Product Engineering (PE),
key customers and the RD team to transform complex requirements into robust, innovative and industrialized designs that strengthen Piab's position as a global leader in automation and vacuum technology. /p h3KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: /h3 ul liSupport Product Engineers (PEs) globally with custom requests by analyzing needs and proposing feasible technical solutions. /li liProvide direct technical support to key customers, especially for critical applications, acting as a senior technical counterpart in discussions and design reviews. /li liLead the design and development of high-level, complex custom and special solutions, from concept to released design. /li liUse CAD (Inventor and/or SolidWorks) to create 3D models, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings, ensuring high quality and manufacturability. /li liWork efficiently with PDM/PLM systems to manage product data, revisions, and documentation in line with internal standards. /li liCollaborate closely with the RD team on new concepts, prototypes, and technology evaluations. /li liPrioritize assigned projects and applications in parallel, ensuring on-time delivery and clear communication with stakeholders. /li liContribute to continuous improvement of design methods, tools, and standards within the team. /li /ul h3PREFERRED COMPETENCIES: /h3 ul liStrong expertise in 3D CAD,
preferably Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks. /li liSolid experience working with PDM/PLM systems for product data and configuration management. /li liSenior-level technical competence in mechanical or mechatronic design, ideally within industrial equipment, automation or similar fields. /li liProven experience working closely with customers on custom or special solution development (from requirement gathering to finalized design). /li liAbility to manage and follow several applications and projects at the same time, with good prioritization and time-management skills. /li liStrong teamwork orientation and excellent collaboration skills across functions (PE, RD, sales, operations, etc.). /liliGood level of English in speaking, writing and listening, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly. /li liAn open, proactive and solution-oriented personality with a high sense of ownership and responsibility for delivered designs. /li /ul h3EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: /h3 ul liBachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics or a closely related field (or equivalent relevant experience). /li liSeveral years (typically 9+ years) of experience in mechanical and/or mechatronic design in an industrial environment. /li liPrior experience in custom/special machinery, automation systems, vacuum technology, or similar technical domains is an advantage. /li liExperience in a global or multi-site environment, working with international colleagues and customers, is a plus. /li /ul h3This is what our employees say about us: /h3 p"At Piab, I have the chance to leave my own footprint.
