The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow and develop in a company committed to developing talent and rewarding performance. /p h3Project QC Engineer – Data Centre /h3 pLocation: Milan, Italy /p pLet’s be honest. /p pQuality doesn’t fail at handover. It fails months earlier when inspections slip, data gets messy and issues aren’t closed properly. /p pWe’re hiring a Project QC Engineer to manage the detail that keeps data centre projects under control. This is a site‑based role focused on QC deliverables, test packs, walkdowns, snag tracking and reporting — the work that turns construction progress into a clean, defensible handover. /p pIf you like structure, accountability and seeing systems signed off properly, you’ll fit in. /p h3The Role /h3 pAs a Project QC Engineer, you’ll be responsible for developing, managing and maintaining quality control deliverables across the project. You’ll work closely with construction, commissioning, BIM, EHS,

supply chain and client teams to ensure inspections are planned, issues are tracked, and data is accurate. /p pThis is a delivery role, not an observational one. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 h3Quality Culture Site Behaviour /h3 h3You Will: /h3 ulliLead by example in ethics, EHS, teamwork, cultural awareness and quality behaviours. /liliPromote a positive quality culture and a “right first time” mindset on site. /liliComply with all project EHS requirements including PPE, permits and procedures. /liliSupport development of project‑specific method statements where required. /liliBuild effective working relationships with planning, engineering, operations, commissioning, EHS, supply chain and client teams. /li /ul h3Inspection, Testing Test Packs /h3 h3You Will: /h3 ulliDevelop, maintain and manage Inspection Test Plans and inspection checklists. /liliTrack approvals in line with submittal and construction programmes. /liliMonitor weld traceability including weld logs, welder qualifications, heat maps, visual inspections and NDT requirements. /liliDevelop and agree test pack lists and contents with relevant stakeholders. /liliDefine system limits and boundaries for test packs and track each pack through completion. /liliCompile hard‑copy and digital test packs for walkdowns and final handover. /li /ul h3Walkdowns, Snags Systems /h3 h3You Will: /h3 ulliPlan walkdowns using two‑week lookaheads and track planned vs actual performance. /liliIssue notifications for W1, W2 and W3 walkdowns and turnovers. /liliLead third‑party walkdowns in line with ITPs and commissioning plans. /liliCarry out internal pre‑test walkdowns using schematics, SLDs and PIDs to confirm design compliance. /liliTrack issues and snags, driving close‑out with the wider project team. /liliReview benchmark and First of Kind installations and report progress. /li /ul h3BIM, Data Reporting /h3 h3You Will: /h3 ulliLiaise with the BIM team on field space creation and custom project attributes. /liliEnsure data integrity across BIM 360 / ACC platforms, with correct issue ownership, categorisation, due dates and responsibilities. /liliImplement QR code tagging and tracking for free‑issue and procured equipment.

/liliMonitor Power BI dashboards for accurate reporting on issues, inspections and progress. /liliTrack KPIs and supply chain performance and support corrective action plans. /li /ul h3Compliance, Improvement Sustainability /h3 h3You Will: /h3 ulliMonitor calibration and certification of inspection, measuring and test equipment. /liliManage system, equipment and asset tagging, including red, yellow and green status. /liliCoordinate with the commissioning team on L3–L5 startup and commissioning schedules. /liliComplete root cause analysis and monitor corrective actions where required. /liliEncourage and support lessons learned during execution and facilitate workshops to prevent repeat issues. /liliDevelop BCAR, LEED and BREEAM plans in line with ITP requirements. /liliOrganise required inspections and compile certificates for inclusion in handover packs. /liliRecognise operatives and teams delivering quality excellence on site. /li /ul h3What We’re Looking For /h3 ulliExperience in a QC Engineer or quality inspection role on large construction projects. /liliExposure to data centres, pharmaceuticals or other regulated environments. /liliStrong understanding of inspections, test packs, walkdowns and handover processes. /liliAbility to read drawings, schematics, SLDs and PIDs. /liliStrong organisational skills and attention to detail. /liliConfidence working across multidisciplinary site teams. /li /ul h3Why This Role? /h3 ulliMajor data centre project in Milan with technical complexity. /liliA hands‑on role close to commissioning and handover. /liliClear processes, strong quality leadership and support. /liliLong‑term opportunities across a growing European project portfolio. /li /ul h3The Bottom Line /h3 pThis role is for someone who understands that quality is delivered through planning, tracking and follow‑through, not last‑minute firefighting. /p pIf you want to build serious QC experience on serious projects, this role does exactly that. /p pFor more information on this role, or other Construction / Engineering opportunities across Ireland, the UK, Europe, or South Africa please review our careers page (Vacancies – Kirby Group Careers) or contact the Talent Acquisition Team at Kirby Group in confidence on +353 (0) . /p pKirby Group Engineering is an equal opportunities employer.
