ppEphos is building vertically integrated, advanced packaging solutions on glass panels. We transform raw glass into electronic and optically active substrates for die-to-die connectivity, manufactured entirely within our own facilities. Our systems are built for companies developing AI accelerators, including hyperscalers and top-tier chip designers. /p pWe have already delivered products to leading global firms, and we are currently building a new fabrication facility to scale production by 100x. This expansion is backed by a $50M EU CHIPS Act grant—the first ever awarded to a startup. /p h3The role /h3 pThe Equipment Hardware Developer role will contribute directly to the development of the hardware used to produce our optically active substrates. The role centres on improving and hardening our existing equipment across process, automated handling and data management. You will work with RD, Process Engineering and Manufacturing to build robust equipment for our advanced products. /p h3Your responsibilities /h3 ul liDevelop and enhance safe operating protocols for equipment. /li liDevelop and implement electrical and mechanical control strategies for production equipment. /li liIntegrate features with tool software and control strategies. /li liEnable third-party automation to interact seamlessly with the equipment and the factory MES software. /li liEnable data management for advanced tool diagnostics. /li liEstablish and manage the equipment budget and the cost model for upgrades.
/li liWork in close collaboration with Process and Manufacturing. /li liEstablish the equipment engineering and maintenance processes required to run the tools in production, and document them to quality standards. /li /ul h3The candidate we are looking for /h3 ul liBSc or MSc in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or Controls Engineering. /li li5+ years in the design and building of equipment, preferably at a semiconductor equipment OEM. /li liExcellent interpersonal skills, energetic and self starter. /li liStrong continuous improvement mindset, consistently identifying and eliminating waste and errors in processes, procedures and work organisation. /li liCan commit to tempo pieno lab presence; due to the nature of the role we will not consider remote applicants. /li liEphos is a demanding environment.
