Overview
In this role you will provide second-line operations for Core IMS Networks in a multi-vendor environment, ensuring service continuity and rapid restoration. You will collaborate with 1st Line teams to analyze alarms, perform data configuration and support integration activities with planning and delivery functions. You will lead proactive maintenance, software upgrades, and acceptance testing for new Core CS elements. You’ll also promote knowledge sharing and adopt cutting-edge technologies to enhance network performance.
Responsabilità
- Conduct incident-based troubleshooting and repair actions to restore Core Network service and performance, including vendor escalation.
- Carry out proactive maintenance and health checks to prevent incidents and optimize Core CS components.
- Oversee planned work, network rollout, software upgrades, and parameter changes to preserve QoS and avoid regressions.
- Introduce and manage advanced technologies with vendor training and on-the-job development.
- Perform acceptance testing and integration/configuration of new Core CS network elements.
- Share knowledge to boost technical skills across deployment and operations teams.
Requisiti fondamentali
- Strong knowledge of core network principles for 2G/LTE (MSS, MGW, SBC, CSCF, TAS, ENUM, VoLTE).
- Solid understanding of core network protocols (SIGTRAN, ISUP, CAMEL, INAP, SIP, Diameter, TCP/UDP, S1AP, GTP/GTPv2, MAP, BSSAP).
- Experience with trace analysis (Wireshark, Tektronix traces, element traces).
- NFV basics and VNF concepts (virtualization, VIM, VNF Managers).
- Knowledge of MPLS/IPsec and related protocols.
- Automation skills with common languages/tools (Python, Power Automation, Ansible).
- Unix/Linux OS administration.
- Teamwork, good communication, English and Italian language skills.
- University degree in Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology; 1–2 years in Core Network Operations and Maintenance; Nokia core network trainings or equivalent.
