- Join the editorial team of Nature Mechanical Engineering as an Associate or Senior Editor
- Help shape, develop, and establish the journal launching in 2027
- Handle original research papers
- Work with editorial teams on manuscript selection, peer review, and editorial decision-making
- Contribute to content development and strategy in the represented area
- Commission and edit Reviews, Perspectives, and Comments
- Write editorials
- Work extensively with editors at other Nature Portfolio journals
- Attend conferences and visit research institutions
Requirements
- Applicants must have a PhD, with a strong track record in research relevant to the fields covered in the journal
- Broad scientific knowledge and training
- Excellent literary and communication skills
- Ability to absorb new areas of research
- Postdoctoral experience (desirable)
- Previous editorial experience (desirable)
- Applications must include a cover letter explaining motivation, salary expectations, notice period, and preferred office location

- Applications must include three recent papers with full references,
links, and rationales
- Applications must include a News and Views-style piece of no more than 500 words on a recent mechanical engineering project
