Valmont Solar
Valmont Solar, a leading company in the solar tracker industry worldwide, is looking for an R&D; Software Engineer to support the development of innovative technologies across its solar PV and tracker portfolio.
The role combines software development, control systems engineering, data analysis, and product innovation activities within the Research & Development team. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, testing, validation, and continuous improvement of products and digital solutions, supporting both current business priorities and the company's long-term technology roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Support research and development activities for solar tracker products and related digital technologies.
- Design, develop, and validate software applications, control algorithms, and data-driven solutions.
- Contribute to prototype development, testing activities, and proof-of-concept projects.
- Analyze system performance data and identify opportunities for product optimization and innovation.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and product engineering teams to develop integrated solutions.
- Support the integration of sensors, data acquisition systems, communication devices, and monitoring platforms.
- Execute simulation, validation, and troubleshooting activities to ensure system performance and reliability.
- Participate in innovation projects involving automation, digitalization, predictive analytics, and emerging technologies.
- Contribute to the definition of technical specifications, testing procedures, and development standards.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and recommendations based on research findings.
- Monitor technology and market trends relevant to solar tracking systems, software applications, and industrial digitalization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science,
Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in R&D;, technology development, software engineering, automation, or related technical environments is preferred
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or similar.
- Experience with data analysis, simulation tools, and testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with sensors, communication protocols, IoT architectures, and control systems.
- Understanding of system integration principles and product development processes.
- Experience in renewable energy, industrial automation, or related sectors is considered a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of English.
