Overview
As a Junior Engineer at Thales Alenia Space, you will contribute to the full subsystem lifecycle, from feasibility studies to in-flight activities. You will help define architectures, size subsystems, and justify technical choices. You’ll analyze the attitude perturbations environment and support hardware specifications. You’ll design, implement and verify control modes and estimation algorithms while supporting avionics validation across simulations and test benches. This role offers international exposure and a direct path to grow within the space engineering domain.

Responsabilità
- Contribute to subsystem lifecycle activities from feasibility to in-flight operations
- Participate in architecture definition, sizing and technical justification
- Analyze the attitude perturbations environment
- Support hardware unit specifications and technical management
- Design, implement and verify control modes and estimation algorithms
- Prepare and compile control system design and analysis reports
- Validate avionics across different simulation stages on test benches
- Model units and configure proprietary design frameworks
- Assist in monitoring hardware component procurement
- Support flight operations for in-orbit activities, investigations and data analysis
- Work primarily in Rome with possible travel to other locations
Requisiti fondamentali
- Master in Aerospace Engineering with focus on attitude control or Control Systems Engineering
- Fluent in English with strong listening and reading skills
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset, well-organized, good communication
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a team
- Results-oriented within given constraints
- Strong understanding of rigid body kinematics and dynamics with gyroscopic stiffness and flexible appendages
- Deep knowledge of sensors and actuators technology
- Familiarity with optimal estimation theory and robust control theory
- Proficiency in Matlab, Simulink and C++ programming
- Familiarity with automatic code generation is a plus
- Knowledge of space engineering standards is a plus
