Overview
As a Cloud Design Engineer, you will shape the Telco Cloud infrastructure strategy for Vodafone across Italy and select markets, enabling a cloud-ready and cloud-native platform for network as a service. You’ll own the design and deployment of virtualization and cloud infrastructure focused on VMware NFV/SDN and Red Hat OpenShift, balancing capacity, security, resiliency, and automation. You will collaborate with the VNF/CNF onboarding team to automate end-to-end integrations and ensure timely, on-budget delivery. This role offers impact at scale within a global Cloud Engineering function and exposure to cutting-edge telco cloud technologies.
Responsabilità
- Own solution design and lifecycle management for Vodafone markets (Cluster IT, GR, AL)
- Coordinate suppliers and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and quality
- Design and deliver NVI on time and on budget per project timelines
- Support automation and process development for VNF/CNF delivery
- Define and track standard adoption and guidelines; translate technical requirements into business language
Requisiti fondamentali
- Degree qualified
- At least 4 years of professional experience in cloud and virtualization
- Expertise in data centre infrastructure, cloud computing and virtualization (IT and Telco)
- Solid understanding of virtualization (VMware/OpenShift) and containerization (Kubernetes)
- Solid understanding of routing protocols (BGP/ISIS/OSPF)
- Experience with Kubernetes networking (CNIs, Service Mesh, Network Policies, Ingress/Egress)
- Experience with Network Load Balancers and Firewalls
- Experience in IPv6 design and implementation
- Scripting skills preferred (PowerCLI, PowerShell, Python)
- Customer oriented
