RINA is currently recruiting for a Venice Marine Senior Surveyor to join its office in Venice, Italy within the Mediterranean and Africa Marine Division.
Mission
The Senior Surveyor serves as an experienced and knowledgeable professional within the organization, applying expertise in maritime Rules, Regulations, and industry principles. The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes.
Key Accountabilities
- Subject Matter Expertise and Continuous Improvement:
- Serve as a trusted expert on maritime classification principles, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards, providing guidance to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Proactively monitor developments in maritime law, safety requirements, and technological advancements, recommending and implementing enhancements to survey techniques and safety programs.
- Comprehensive Inspection and Reporting:
- Carry out detailed surveys and inspections on a variety of classed ships, offshore installations, and marine assets,
verifying compliance with all classification society rules and statutory mandates.
- Ensure all survey findings are meticulously documented through timely, accurate, and technically sound reports and certificates that conform to organisational and regulatory standards.
- Operational Planning and Team Leadership:
- Develop, schedule, and oversee surveying activities, coordinating resources to optimise operational efficiency and quality outcomes.
- Act as a mentor to junior surveyors, providing expert advice, training, and performance feedback to foster professional development within the team.
- Client Engagement and Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients by offering expert consultation and resolving technical issues effectively and promptly.
