Overview
As Senior Systems Engineer, you will lead battery system development and test projects, guiding requirements across the lifecycle and ensuring adherence to standards. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams and customers to translate needs into robust system designs for HV batteries, BMS, modules, and electrified powertrains. You will drive issue resolution, risk assessments, and integration activities that enable smooth production transfers. This role offers impact on scalable battery architectures within AVL’s sustainable mobility mission.
Responsabilità
- Design battery systems and sub-systems and integrate them into testing/development environments (HV batteries, BMS, packs, modules, charging, electrified powertrains)
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global project teams to ensure seamless system integration
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for battery and test system issues
- Coordinate with manufacturing to transfer designs into production
- Guide system installation, commissioning, and verification activities
- Perform root cause analysis to resolve complex system issues and implement corrective actions
- Contribute to system-level risk assessments and reuse best practices across projects
- Define and manage battery system requirements, interfaces,
and traceability throughout development
- Support verification and validation activities including test planning, execution, and results reporting
- Contribute to architecture definition and system performance optimization
- Develop technical instructions with project team considering function, schedule, and quality
- Provide technical clarification to customers on system level requirements, functions and interfaces
- Review and refine project requirements and customer use cases with the team
- Plan and coordinate integration, verification, and validation until final acceptance
Requisiti fondamentali
- 4–7 years of experience in Battery Systems, Electrification Systems, Energy Storage Systems, Automotive Systems Engineering or related area
- Experience in requirements engineering, system integration, verification and validation
- Experience with battery-related development projects or HV systems is an advantage
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Willingness to travel
