Overview

In this role you will lead the second line of defense for American Express Italy S.A., strengthening risk governance and the enterprise risk management framework. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders to define risk appetite, monitor risk profiles, and escalate issues to governance bodies. The position focuses on identifying emerging risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and embedding risk discipline into strategy and operations. You will shape risk culture and drive responsible growth within the Italian issuing business.

Responsabilità

- Develop risk appetite metrics and escalation thresholds aligned with regulatory requirements
- Identify emerging risks in line with the risk appetite program
- Maintain and enhance the Legal Entity Risk Management Framework
- Oversee internal control and risk management across the Italian entity
- Provide oversight of governance structures, including committees and new product reviews




- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and regulatory exams
- Lead the risk management program and ensure timely reporting of aggregate risk to governance bodies
- Ensure effective challenge to critical processes and project governance

Requisiti fondamentali

- 8+ years of leadership experience in risk management, compliance, treasury, controllership, or similar
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen with a risk-reward perspective
- Understanding of local market regulatory requirements and payment institution industry
- Experience interacting with regulators and familiarity with European regulatory landscape
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
