ppRINA is currently recruiting for a bNetwork Security Engineer /b to join its office in Rome (Italy) within the bOperating Engine /b Division. /p h3Mission /h3 pThe Network Security Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, protection, and maintenance of network infrastructures in enterprise environments. The role focuses on firewalls, switching, routing, segmentation, and secure connectivity to ensure reliable, resilient, and well-controlled network operations. /p h3Key Accountabilities /h3 h3Network Security Engineering /h3 ul liDesign, implement, and maintain secure network architectures using FortiGate firewalls and Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching infrastructures. /li liConfigure and optimize routing, switching, firewall policies, VPN connectivity, and network access controls.Implement secure segmentation to separate users, systems, and critical services based on business and security requirements. /li liSupport the integration of network components in on-premises and hybrid environments. /li /ul h3Configuration Troubleshooting /h3 ul liReview and validate network configurations, access policies, ACLs, and firewall rules. /li liResolve connectivity, performance, and policy enforcement issues in complex network environments. /li liIdentify and correct misconfigurations, weak security controls, and exposure points. /li liSupport operational continuity through structured analysis and rapid issue resolution /li /ul h3Infrastructure Hardening Maintenance /h3 ul liHarden network devices and supporting infrastructures according to security best practices. /li liSupport patch management, firmware updates, and secure lifecycle maintenance of network platforms. /li liMaintain consistent configuration standards across routers, switches, and firewalls. /li liContribute to the stability, availability, and security of the infrastructure. /li /ul h3Monitoring Visibility /h3 ul liSupport network logging, traffic analysis,



and visibility through security and monitoring platforms.Integrate network devices with centralized logging and monitoring solutions as required. /li liContribute to the identification of anomalous traffic patterns, unauthorized access attempts, and policy violations. /li liEnhance situational awareness of the network environment. /li /ul h3Reporting Advisory /h3 ul liProduce clear technical documentation on network risks, configurations, and remediation actions. /li liPresent findings and recommendations to technical stakeholders in a practical and operational manner. /li liSupport secure network design decisions and operational improvements. /li liCollaborate with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to enhance resilience. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liSolid experience in network security engineering and infrastructure administration. /li liHands-on knowledge of FortiGate firewalls and Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching environments. /li liStrong understanding of routing, switching, segmentation, VPN, and firewall policy management. /li liExperience in troubleshooting, hardening, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructures. /li liFamiliarity with network monitoring, logging, and traffic analysis. /li liScripting or automation skills are a plus. /li liFortinet and Cisco certifications are preferred. /li liItalian and English language proficiency required.
