Sector: Hyperscale Data Centres | Mission-Critical InfrastructureA leading European data centre delivery partner is seeking two experienced Quantity Surveyors to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Milan.
This is a senior commercial role with responsibility for cost control, subcontractor management, and client engagement across complex M&E; and civil/structural packages. You will support the delivery of turnkey mission-critical projects, ensuring cost efficiency, contract compliance, and timely reporting.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop subcontract tender packages, analyse received bids, and present options to senior managementNegotiate with subcontractors, conduct pre-let meetings, and issue subcontract ordersManage multiple subcontract packages from order through to final account, including remeasurement and claims managementMaintain and submit monthly cost reports,
including end-of-project projections in collaboration with site teamsAttend stakeholder meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal teamsResolve client/subcontractor disputes effectively and professionallyPrepare and submit valuations, ensuring certification and tracking for invoicingMeasure work packages from drawings and apply rates to develop accurate package pricingManage project budgets under direction of the Project DirectorCompile monthly commercial reports and maintain cost documentationEnsure timely submission of claims/notices in accordance with contract provisionsMentor and support junior commercial team membersRequirementsBachelor's degree or relevant qualification in Quantity SurveyingMinimum 7+ years' experience in commercial/quantity surveying roles within M&E; or civil/structural contractingProven experience with subcontractor xrdztoy procurement, package management, and claims resolutionStrong understanding of commercial procedures, valuations, and contract administrationExcellent organisation, communication, and time management skillsAnalytical mindset with attention to detailTeam-focused with mentoring experience in commercial or site teamsData centre project experience is advantageous but not essentialProficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & ProjectWhat's On OfferWork on high-value mission-critical data centre projects in MilanCollaborative and supportive team environmentCompetitive salary package with rotation, accommodation, transport, and living allowanceCareer development opportunities within a fast-growing European delivery programme
