Chaberton Professionals, division of Chaberton Partners dedicated to Middle and Top Management search, is currently seeking a Head of Finance for an important industrial group, recognized for its strong market positioning and ongoing growth path across multiple business units.

Position The role will be based in Florence and will report directly to the Finance & Treasury Director.

The selected professional will lead a structured Finance organization of approximately 15 people, while coordinating the administrative and financial activities across the Group’s various legal entities and business divisions.

The Head of Finance will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of accounting, tax, reporting and compliance processes, while supporting the continued evolution of a rapidly expanding organization characterized by acquisitions, operational integration projects and a complex multi-company environment.

The role combines strong technical expertise with people leadership and organizational capabilities, requiring a professional able to manage daily operations while contributing to the long-term development of the Finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting, Tax & Compliance Management

- Ensure the proper execution of all accounting, tax and statutory activities across the Group.
- Oversee direct and indirect taxation matters, coordinating external advisors and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Manage relationships with tax authorities, auditors and external consultants.
- Supervise customs-related processes and support the implementation of Group-wide customs and compliance procedures.
- Monitor tax risk exposures and ensure the effective management of fiscal audits, disputes and inspections.

Financial Reporting & Consolidation

- Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities across all Group entities.
- Lead the preparation of statutory and consolidated financial statements.




- Ensure compliance with Italian GAAP and support IFRS-related reporting requirements.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and other professional advisors involved in financial reporting activities.
- Provide support to Corporate Governance bodies through the preparation of relevant financial documentation.

Finance Organization & Team Leadership

- Lead, coach and develop a Finance team of approximately 15 professionals.
- Define roles, responsibilities and priorities across the function, ensuring operational continuity and effective workload allocation.
- Promote talent development, succession planning and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Coordinate the Finance activities of the Group’s companies and divisions, ensuring alignment of processes and best practices.
- Manage relationships with external advisors and service providers, ensuring quality and efficiency of deliverables.

Planning, Reporting & Business Support

- Supervise financial reporting activities addressed to shareholders, lenders and senior management.
- Monitor financial covenants and support compliance obligations related to financing agreements.
- Contribute to Budget, Forecast and Cash Flow planning activities.
- Monitor working capital performance and Net Financial Position evolution.
- Support business decisions through analysis and financial insights.

Process Improvement & Digital Transformation

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Finance processes and controls.
- Promote automation and digitalization projects within the Finance function.
- Support ERP implementation and integration initiatives.
- Develop procedures,



governance frameworks and reporting tools aimed at improving efficiency and scalability.
- Foster a culture of operational excellence and process standardization.
- M&A; & Integration Activities
- Support acquisition, merger and corporate reorganization projects from a Finance perspective.
- Coordinate the integration of newly acquired companies into the Group’s administrative, accounting and tax framework.
- Ensure consistency of processes, controls and reporting standards across the organization.

Requirements

- Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related disciplines.
- At least 8-10 years of experience within Finance, Accounting or Tax functions.
- Proven experience leading structured Finance teams and managing complex organizational environments.
- Strong knowledge of corporate taxation, VAT regulations and tax compliance matters.
- Solid experience in statutory and consolidated financial reporting.
- Good understanding of OIC accounting principles and familiarity with IFRS.
- Experience managing audit processes and relationships with external advisors.
- Knowledge of financial planning, cash flow management and reporting processes.
- Strong SAP knowledge.
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Good command of English in an international business environment.

Compensation Package

- Base Salary: €80,000 Gross Annual Salary
- MBO: 20%
