The Production Planning Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements while ensuring the most effective utilization of the company's production capacity. The Production Planning Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements while ensuring the most effective utilization of the company's production capacity. The role also involves inventory management, production monitoring and cross-functional collaboration to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain and optimize the master production schedule, considering capacity constraints, demand forecasts, inventory levels and historical trends to achieve targeted lead times and service levels.
- Review and validate sales orders against forecasted demand and the approved production plan.
- Coordinate closely with the Customer Service team to provide accurate production status updates and proactively communicate potential delays or issues.
- Develop and manage production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders while maximizing manufacturing efficiency.
- Manages inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules
- Release Manufacturing Orders and monitor their progress throughout the entire production process to ensure compliance with delivery dates and quantities.
- Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Logistics and other relevant departments to address material shortages, scheduling conflicts and planning issues.
