Role
We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to design, build, and scale the operating model of Generative Bionics, ensuring the effective delivery, deployment, support, and continuous improvement of our robotic platforms in real-world environments. The COO will be responsible for designing the processes, systems, governance, and organizational structure required to support the entire customer lifecycle, from Proof of Concept deployments and installations through ongoing service operations and customer support. As a member of the executive leadership team the COO will play a pivotal role in shaping the operational foundations required to foster commercial growth and international expansion.
Responsibilities
- Define, implement and scale-up the company's operational framework supporting the entire customer life-cycle from PoC and delivery to ongoing service operations;
- Transform product requirements and commercial commitments into scalable operational processes and execution models, by establishing clear ownership, workflows, handovers, escalation paths across the customer journey;
- Own the operational execution of product deployment and service delivery activities, installations, commissioning, field interventions and maintenance operations;
- Coordinate Logistics, Engineering, NOC, Customer Success, Customer Operations, and external service partners to ensure efficient service delivery and operational excellence;
- Define and monitor SLAs, response times, resolutions targets escalation procedures and operational standards in order to guarantee high-quality customer support;
- Oversee the effective management of customer issues and incidents,
driving root-cause analysis and continuous corrective and preventive actions;
- Build, guide and develop lead, and develop a scalable operations organization, including the management and growth of the Customer Service Operations function;
- Establish a continuous improvement framework across customer and service operations by building a culture of operational ownership, accountability, standardizing process and identifying recurring operational issues, bottlenecks, failure patterns and inefficiencies;
- Own the operational requirements for CRM, ticketing, service management, field service, inventory/spares and customer-facing systems, collaborating with IT, Data, Engineering and other functions;
- Define, monitor, and continuously improve operational performance through KPI frameworks covering service levels, deployment effectiveness, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost-to-serve;
- Act as the operational counterpart to the CCO, CTO and Product Organization, Engineering Legal, Compliance, Data Protection, Health and Safety, ensuring commercial growth, product reliability, serviceability, deployment requirements, field feedback, product evolutions and customer commitments;
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or a related field;
- 10+ years of experience with leadership roles in Operations, Service Operations, Customer Operations, Field Operations or Industrial Operations;
- Proven experience in building and scaling operational functions in a complex technological robotics B2B industrial environment;
- Strong knowledge of SLA management, incident management, escalation frameworks, field service, deployment, and technical support operations;
- Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management capabilities, combined with a pragmatic customer-oriented approach and the ability to drive operational excellence across complex cross-functional and fast-growing organizations;
- Fluent Italian and good command of English;
