Job Overview
We are seeking a Design Manager to take full ownership of the design process and lead multidisciplinary teams for a complex, high-profile project currently under development by RIMOND.
The position is based in our Rome office and reports directly to the Technical Director. The Design Manager will be responsible for the overall design performance of the project, ensuring delivery in terms of quality, time, cost, and technical compliance.
The construction site for the project is located in Perugia, therefore the role requires availability to travel regularly to the site. Depending on the project phase and operational requirements, the Design Manager may also be required to spend extended or continuous periods in Perugia to ensure effective coordination with the construction team and all project stakeholders.
You will act as the ultimate design authority within the project, responsible for defining the design direction, making key decisions, and ensuring alignment between all disciplines, stakeholders, and project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and take full ownership of the design process across all project phases, ensuring alignment with project objectives, quality standards, and client expectations
- Define and drive the design strategy, making key decisions and ensuring design integrity, feasibility, and constructability
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective collaboration and integration across all disciplines
- Oversee design delivery, ensuring compliance with project requirements, timelines, and budget constraints
- Act as the primary interface with clients and stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring clear communication of design intent
- Monitor project performance, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions in coordination with the Technical Director
- Ensure high standards of quality, technical excellence, and consistency across all design outputs
- Promote innovation, digital tools, and BIM
