Within the AIRWORTHINESS, SAFETY, Eng. Process Governance & Quality Area, we are looking for an AEH Certification Specialist for our Turin site.
Main Activities:
- Preparation and conduct of pre-SOI technical reviews in the Planning, Development, Verification and Final phases, adapted to the Certification Programme, the certification basis, the Compliance Demonstration Items and the Level of Involvement defined by the competent civil or military Authority.
- Conduct technical assessments on FPGAs, ASICs, CPLDs, SoCs and other AEH devices, including custom components, programmable logic and integrated safety-relevant functionalities.
- Evaluate the compliance of evidence with DO-254/ED-80 and AMC 20-152A, taking into account the hardware design assurance level and the complexity of the device.
- Analyze PHAC and related plans, hardware requirements, architecture/design data, HDL, synthesis and implementation data, verification procedures and results, elemental analysis, robustness, coverage, traceability, configuration index and problem report.
- Evaluate tool assessment and tool qualification according to DO-330/ED-215 when applicable to the AEH lifecycle; consider the interface with DO-331, DO-332 and DO-333 when models, software techniques or mixed integrations make these references pertinent to the project.
- Evaluate compliance with AMC 20-189 and, for devices or architectures with multi-core processors, AMC 20-193, coordinating shared aspects with the system and software.
- Coordinate with SQA and use related audit reports and Process Assurance records as input to pre-SOI, maintaining responsibility for technical and certification evaluation distinct from process assurance activities on supplier developments.
- Identify findings, observations, gaps and certification risks; monitor corrective actions and verify the completeness of closing evidence.
- Prepare internal teams and suppliers for official reviews and participate, in a technical role, in SOIs and meetings with civil and military Authorities.
Education:
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
Required Experience Level:

Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of DO-254/ED-80 and AMC 20-152A, including planning, conceptual and detailed design, implementation, verification, configuration management, process assurance and certification liaison.
- In-depth knowledge of DO-330/ED-215 for tool assessment and tool qualification in the AEH domain.
- Knowledge of AMC 20-189 for the management and acceptance of Open Problem Reports and of AMC 20-193 for multi-core processors, where applicable.
- Adequate knowledge of DO-178C/ED-12C and supplements DO-331, DO-332 and DO-333 to correctly manage SW/AEH interfaces and evaluate their applicability in mixed contexts.
- Knowledge of the applicable civil certification framework EASA/FAA (Part-21), AMC/GM, Certification Specifications, ETSO/TSO and definition of the certification basis and means of compliance.
- Knowledge of the military airworthiness and certification framework, with particular reference to EMAR 21.
- Ability to understand differences, equivalences and tailoring between civil and military processes, including Level of Involvement, compliance demonstration, acceptance of evidence and recognition between Authorities.
