You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining firmware for embedded devices, working across the full stack from low-level hardware interaction to user-facing interfaces.
/ppThis role requires strong expertise in strongC++ /strong, embedded Linux (Yocto), and experience building reliable, scalable firmware solutions.
/ppFamiliarity with microcontroller platforms such as ST, ESP32, or NXP is highly desirable.
/ppbr / /ppstrongKey Responsibilities /strong /pulliDesign, develop, and maintain embedded firmware using strongC++ /strong /liliCustomize and manage strongembedded Linux distributions /strong using Yocto /liliDevelop scripts and tools using Python for automation, testing, and integration /liliBuild and maintain UI components using Qt where applicable /liliInterface directly with hardware (drivers, peripherals, communication protocols) /liliDebug and optimize system performance, memory usage,
and power consumption /liliCollaborate with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams /liliWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code /liliParticipate in code reviews and contribute to best practices /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongRequired Qualifications /strong /pulli3+ years of experience in embedded firmware development /lilistrongStrong proficiency in C++ (modern standards preferred) /strong /liliHands-on experience with Yocto Project and strongembedded Linux systems /strong /liliSolid experience with Python /liliExperience developing applications with Qt (Qt/QML is a plus) /liliGood understanding of embedded systems architecture and constraints /liliExperience with debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, GDB) /liliFamiliarity with communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, etc.) /liliExperience with version control systems (Git) /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongPreferred Qualifications /strong /pulliExperience with microcontroller platforms: STMicroelectronics (STM32), Espressif ESP32, NXP (i.MX, LPC, etc.) /liliKnowledge of bootloaders, BSPs, and device tree configuration /liliExperience with CI/CD pipelines for embedded systems /liliFamiliarity with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS) /liliBasic hardware troubleshooting skills (oscilloscope, logic analyzer) /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongLocation /strong: Genova o Bologna prov (max 1 day per week of remote working).
