pMy client is looking for an Optical Communications Systems Engineer, focused on validation and characterisation of next-generation, optical communication products.
As an Optical Communications Engineer, you will cover high-speed modulators, telecom systems, and photonic device performance.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in an RD team, developing advanced telecom technologies.
/ppbr/ppbResponsibilities /b /pp• Develop and execute test plans to verify functionality, performance and robustness of optical communication products /pp• Define and implement system-level validation strategies for telecom and photonic devices /pp• Design test methodologies that replicate real-world customer operating conditions /pp• Build and configure laboratory test environments representative of telecom systems /pp• Characterise high-speed modulators and optical communication hardware throughout development /pp• Analyse measurement data, identify performance limitations and perform root-cause investigations /pp• Support interoperability, integration and customer validation activities /pp• Develop automated test procedures to improve repeatability and efficiency /pp• Produce clear technical reports and recommendations based on test results /pp• Work closely with design,
process and application engineering teams to improve product performance and reliability /ppbr/ppbRequirements /b /pp• Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, Photonics or a related discipline /pp• 3–8 years experience in testing, validation or characterisation of optical or telecom products /pp• Experience with optical communication systems, fibre-optic transmission or telecom architectures /pp• Strong understanding of system-level performance and device behaviour /pp• Experience developing and executing structured validation plans /pp• Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation including oscilloscopes and optical measurement equipment /pp• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills /pp• Experience with Python, or similar tools for automation and data analysis /ppbr/ppbDesirable /b /pp• Experience with coherent or high-speed communication systems /pp• Understanding of modulation techniques and signal integrity concepts /pp• Knowledge of transceiver architecture and subsystem interactions /pp• Experience with telecom standards and communication protocols /pp• Exposure to automated validation frameworks and continuous testing methodologies /pp• Experience performing integration and interoperability testing /ppbr/ppIf you are searching for a position that requires creativity, analytical thinking, and innovation, get in touch with Ella at IC Resources.
