Overview In this backend-focused role, you will help scale Deel’s global payroll and HR platform by building robust features, APIs, and services with a strong emphasis on performance and security. You’ll collaborate with frontend, product, design, and QA to deliver customer-centric software in a remote-first, fast-paced environment. Responsabilità

- Collaborate in a cross-functional team with frontend, product, design, and QA to deliver seamless experiences
- Participate in product planning from discovery to deployment across the SDLC
- Develop and enhance features, APIs, and continuously improve products
- Identify, debug, and fix issues to maintain high quality (“Deel Speed”)
- Ensure customer-focused, high-quality engineering and reliable services
- Build secure,



scalable APIs with input validation and JWT-based authentication, considering queue-based architectures

Requisiti fondamentali

- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Backend development expertise with Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript; knowledge of at least one other server-side language
- PostgreSQL proficiency including query optimization, migrations, and data modeling
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns
- Experience designing scalable systems and handling high transaction volumes
- API development experience including security aspects like JWT and scalability considerations
- Remote collaboration experience in distributed teams
- Business-focused approach to delivering high-value software
- Excellent communication of complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Genuine care for customers and a proactive, optimistic problem-solver attitude
