WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
IT Security Specialist | Space & European Programmes
Join our client’s international team in Rome (Anagnina Area), supporting IT security activities for major European space programmes. The company is a long-standing partner of space institutions, contributing to secure, compliant, and high-performance IT environments that support scientific, operational, and administrative systems.
We are looking for a motivated IT Security Specialist with 1-4+ years of experience in IT security operations, security governance, or infrastructure security, ready to work in a structured, multicultural and mission-critical environment.
A B2 level of English is required due to regular interactions with European stakeholders and documentation in English.
YOUR TASKS
In this role, you will support the implementation and continuous improvement of security policies, procedures and controls across a wide range of IT systems used in European space programmes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting security administration across Windows, Linux and network environments.
- Performing security checks, reviews, and vulnerability follow-up, coordinating remediation with technical teams.
- Maintaining and updating security documentation, including policies, procedures and technical guidelines.
- Supporting access management and security control implementation across systems and applications.
- Assisting in the preparation and improvement of IT security processes, standards and compliance requirements.
- Participating in risk assessments,
identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions.
- Supporting PoCs (Proof of Concepts) for new security solutions or tools, in collaboration with senior experts.
- Preparing technical and administrative reports to support internal and external audits.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners within a multicultural, international environment.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 1-4+ years of experience in IT Security, Security Operations or infrastructure/system administration with a security focus.
- Good understanding of IT security principles, policies and best practices.
- Knowledge of Windows and/or Linux security administration.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of network security, firewalls, segmentation and access control.
- Experience with vulnerability management, remediation coordination or patching procedures.
- Familiarity with security documentation, audits and compliance reporting.
- Ability to interpret and apply security standards, guidelines and risk assessment methodologies.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with high attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a structured, process-oriente and international environment.
- A proactive, responsible and collaborative mindset.
EXTRA INFORMATION
Location: Rome (Anagnina area)
Work location: Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week, the rest from home + flexibility based on operational needs
Environment: International, structured, security-focused environment supporting European space programmes
Start: ASAP
