Job Description:

Within the Aeronautics Division, in the Aircraft B.U., in the ECS, Ice Protection and Crew Systems unit, we are looking for an Environmental Control System, Fire Protection and Ice Protection Engineer at the Turin office.

In particular, the candidate will carry out engineering activities related to the following disciplinary areas:

- Environmental control systems, thermal comfort management,



and pressurization
- Thermal integration of electrical and avionics equipment and cooling and ventilation systems
- Fire detection and protection systems
- Ice detection and protection systems

Within the proposed role, the main activities and responsibilities will be:

- Definition, analysis, and development of requirements
- Development of functional analyses and definition of system architectures
- Development of thermofluidynamic simulation models (lumped-parameter, one-dimensional and three-dimensional - CFD)
- Definition of integration requirements and related analyses; support for the installation of systems and equipment
- Performance analysis
- Development of supply specifications for systems and equipment, equipment engineering, and technical management of suppliers
- Definition of verification and validation methods and test requirements; support for the execution of experimental activities
- Definition of qualification and certification requirements, demonstration methods, and preparation of compliance documentation
- Analysis of in-service problems and troubleshooting
- Contributions to the drafting of technical publications

The role involves interaction with various company units (e.g., chief engineering, avionics systems, aerodynamics and performance, certification, flight tests),



as well as with national and international customers and industrial partners; activities may include periods of secondment abroad.

Education:

- Master's Degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, fluid dynamics and heat transfer specialization

Required experience level: junior (< 2 years)

Technical skills:

- Knowledge of thermofluid dynamics and heat transfer
- Knowledge of calculation and systemic and thermofluid dynamic simulation methods and development of lumped-parameter, one-dimensional and three-dimensional thermofluiddynamic models
- Systemic skills for the following areas of interest:
- environmental control systems and main mechanical components (compressors, turbines, heat exchangers)
- ice detection and protection systems and related regulations (e.g., FAR/CS 25.1419, FAR/CS 25.1420)
- fire detection and protection systems and related regulations (fire resistance, fire proofness)
- oxygen systems and related regulations (e.g., FAR/CS 25.1439 and subsequent)

- Familiarity with technical documents, standards, and aeronautical regulations (e.g., FAR/CS Part 25)
- Ability to approach projects from an engineering perspective, translating inputs into operational requirements, test specifications, and analysis of appropriate technical solutions

Plus points:

- Knowledge of requirements management methods
- Knowledge of functional modeling methods and processes
