Position Mission The Junior Test Facilities Engineer will work with the Test Facilities Manager to ensure operational availability and reliable operations of several different and complex test facilities in our Space Factory. This is your opportunity to develop hands-on experience on technologies ranging from vacuum to cryogenics to test set-up.
Responsabilities
With the guidance of the Test Facilities Manager, the Junior Test Facilities Engineer will progressively learn to execute the following tasks:
- Support the daily operation of the test facilities.
- Develop, broaden and update Test Facilities maintenance programs.
- Respond to facility and equipment alarms and system failures (1st level response).
- Supervise maintenance and repair of test facilities equipment.
- Develop, broaden and update Test Facility operational procedures.
- Plan and execute upgrading activities of the Test Facilities.
- Maintain the Facilities Logbook to ensure auditable measuring of Availability and Reliability.
- Keep up-to-date test facility diagnostics and ancillary equipment database.
- Understand the test procedures and test EGSE/MGSE and can support the setup of complex tests in the electric propulsion domain.
- Manage test media (i.e., Inert gas, LN2) storage and procurement.
- Prepare and track the Test Facilities maintenance budget
- Partner with Plant Management on the maintenance activities on the utilities supporting the Test Facilities.
- Partner with the Scheduler to maximize Test Facilities utilization.
- Develop Test Facility Specification and Requirements for procurement activities. Request quotes and tenders from vendors and suppliers.
- Develop feasibility studies based on Project or Customer Requirements to be compliant to request for equipment testing, including facilities upgrade proposal.
- Participate in Project or Customer review, such as TRR/PTR.
Technical Skills, Qualifications and Professional Experience
- BSc in Industrial Engineering (Mechanical/Energy/Aerospace engineering preferred)
- Experience in testing facilities and/or in the electric propulsion domain is a plus.
- Software and Automation Skills:
- Basic principles of automation in the management of complex systems
- Knowledge of LabVIEW and NI components
- Software programming in LabVIEW
- Practical skills in these 2 fields are a plus
- Mechanical assembly and vacuum system components
- Electrotechnical and electropneumatic devices
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and planning skills.
- Fluent in English
