You will own critical backend systems powering real-time trading, data pipelines, APIs, and high-volume databases.
Your work will directly support products used by hundreds of thousands of traders and designed to scale to millions of users.
You’ll solve challenging problems around latency, reliability, data consistency, and performance in a fast-moving environment.
The role offers significant ownership, with the opportunity to shape architecture and take products from 0 to 1.
You’ll collaborate closely with frontend and mobile engineers in a team that values technical excellence and product craftsmanship.
This is a fully remote position open across Europe or the USA, with required overlap with EST working hours.
Accountabilities

Own key architecture and technical decisions across backend systems, ensuring they remain scalable, reliable, and performant.

Build and operate real-time data pipelines handling order book updates, trades, and market events.

Design, develop, and maintain API infrastructure, including GraphQL and WebSockets, for web and mobile clients.

Work extensively with PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse, and similar technologies to support high-volume trading data.

Optimize queries, caching strategies, schemas, and data access patterns as usage and data volumes grow.

Instrument services with appropriate metrics, monitoring, and alerting, and participate in on-call rotations.

Investigate and resolve latency, memory, performance, and reliability issues under demanding production workloads.

Partner with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver analytical and real-time data through robust APIs.
