Due Diligence & Background Check Analyst

Background Italia Srl, a Milan-based reputational due diligence and asset tracing firm, is looking for a motivated professional to join its investigative team tempo pieno. The selected candidate will support Italian and international clients on:
- Reputational due diligence on individuals and companies
- Background checks and pre-employment screening
- Asset tracing
- Structured OSINT research across open sources, media, registries, and databases
- Conduct in-depth OSINT research, cross-referencing data from multiple sources to identify reputational and financial risks relevant to the client
- Analyze corporate registries and judicial databases, as well as industry-specific sources (e.g. Cerved), to reconstruct corporate and personal profiles
- Verify and validate collected information, distinguishing documented facts from inferences
- Synthesize research findings into structured reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team’s research tools and methodologies
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the investigative/due diligence sector
- Proven proficiency with OSINT tools and methodologies
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Prior experience with industry-specific databases (e.g. Cerved, judicial/corporate registry databases)
- Precision, analytical rigor, and sound ethical judgment in handling confidential information
- Degree in Economics, Law, or Criminology (preferred)
- Knowledge of additional foreign languages (preferred)
- Hybrid working arrangement, based in Milan
- Placement in a dynamic, structured environment, with exposure to international due diligence and asset tracing cases
