About Matteo Thun & Partners
Matteo Thun (b. 1952, Bolzano) is one of Italy's most recognised architects and designers. A co-founder of the Memphis Group in 1981 alongside Ettore Sottsass, he founded his own studio, Matteo Thun & Partners, in Milan in 1984. Today the practice is known internationally for hospitality and residential architecture, sustainable design, and long-standing collaborations with leading manufacturers across furniture, lighting and ceramics. Matteo Thun & Partners is now developing a new, more boutique offering, personally overseen by Matteo Thun, dedicated to small-scale creative projects realised in close partnership with select manufacturers and brands.

The Role

We are looking for someone to build this boutique offering together with Matteo Thun, from the ground up. This is not only a delivery role: the right person will originate new project ideas alongside him, then identify the right partner companies to realise and launch them — whether that means a new piece in bronze, wood or ceramic, an artist's book, or a new life for material already held in the studio's own archive. The role works closely with Matteo Thun & Partners' finance and press teams, and reports directly to Matteo Thun.

Responsibilities:

- Originate new project concepts together with Matteo Thun, and identify the right partner companies to realise and launch them, across materials including bronze, wood and ceramic
- Develop publishing projects,



including artist's books
- Identify and develop new uses for material already held in the studio's archive — for example, turning an existing body of work, such as watercolours, into a new exhibition
- Manage each project from concept through to delivery, coordinating timelines, content and communication
- Align budgets and revenue expectations with Matteo Thun & Partners' finance team
- Liaise with the press office to plan and coordinate media coverage
- Coordinate with sourcing and production partners as needed
- Good knowledge of English and Italian

What We're Looking For:

- Proven experience independently leading creative and commercial projects
- A conceptual thinker as much as an operator — as comfortable originating new project ideas as delivering them
- Strong organisational skills and the drive to see projects through to completion
- Excellent digital skills — this role handles all digital communication and administration directly, as Matteo Thun works without a phone or computer
- Enjoys building new relationships and connections
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel
