Technical Manager, Italy & Europe Support
As Technical Manager, you strengthen Italy's Industrial Services capability and quality while supporting European operations.
You act as the primary technical focal point, guiding execution, proposals, inspector competence and technical methodologies.
You'll share expertise across Europe to access specialist capabilities and help shape scalable, compliant delivery.
You work closely with operations, projects and cross-border teams to drive value for customers and the business.
Act as the primary technical focal point for Industrial Services activities in Italy; provide guidance to operations managers, project managers, coordinators and inspectors
Support technically complex assignments and elevate where needed; ensure technical methodologies, procedures and execution approaches are established
Align activities with DNV requirements, codes, standards, specifications and client requirements; identify risks and define mitigations
Provide technical leadership on significant and complex proposals; review scope, ITPs and client requirements
Develop or review execution methodologies, resource needs and deliverables; support bid/no-bid and technical risk assessments
Support project kick-offs, review execution arrangements and assist mobilisation and execution
Resolve technical non-conformities and client concerns; capture lessons learned for future projects
Assess inspectors, engineers and resources; define competency requirements and support recruitment and training
Identify opportunities to strengthen Industrial Services capabilities in Italy; align with customer demand and growth areas (Oil & Gas, Renewables, etc.)
Provide cross-European technical support, enabling access to expertise, and promoting reuse of methodologies and lessons learned
Maintain interaction with Global Tech & Delivery, engage senior PMs/SMEs in proposals and execution
Participate in customer meetings; strengthen DNV's technical positioning with Italian customers and EPCs
Collaborate with cross-BU teams to deliver integrated solutions and share capabilities across Europe
Promote compliance with management systems, standards and independent requirements; support audits and root-cause analyses
Engineering degree or equivalent relevant technical qualification
Significant experience in inspection, QA/QC, vendor surveillance, asset integrity or TIC services
Strong knowledge of international codes, standards and inspection practices
Experience with complex industrial projects across Oil & Gas, Energy, Power, Renewables, Infrastructure
Understanding of inspector competency and qualification requirements
Experience with technical proposal development and tender evaluation
Ability to translate customer requirements into practical execution solutions
Experience working across countries and multicultural teams (desirable)
Familiarity with ISO/IEC ***** and inspection-body requirements (advantage)
