In this role, you will manage and optimize Deel's database systems to ensure data integrity, security, and high availability. You'll collaborate with engineering and data teams to design, implement, and maintain robust database environments that support data-driven decisions. You will address performance challenges, incidents, and data migrations while safeguarding critical information. Responsabilità
- Guide developers on database development and design best practices
- Review and approve database-related code
- Monitor database health and performance metrics
- Respond to live incidents and alerts (errors, locks, deadlocks, availability)
- Perform maintenance tasks: backups/restores, engine upgrades, migrations, parameter changes
- Create database functions and triggers
- Maintain and improve data integrity
- Diagnose and optimize slow queries and parameters for better performance
Requisiti fondamentali
- 3+ years administering production PostgreSQL databases
- 3+ years administering production Oracle databases
- Proficient in reading and writing SQL queries including window functions
- Proficient in DB programming: triggers, functions
- Proficient in Data Modelling (tables and relations)
- Proficient in performance tuning
- Capable of supporting live incidents
- Experience with Git
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with other RDBMS and NoSQL databases is a plus
- Nice to have: 1+ years of high-level programming experience
- Nice to have: 1+ years of managing cloud databases (AWS, GCP)
- Collaborative communication with developers and cross-functional teams
