The role drives new business and develops existing customer accounts by understanding customer applications and requirements, positioning the company’s solutions effectively, and guiding opportunities from prospecting through to contract award. By combining technical knowledge with commercial acumen, the Sales Engineer delivers clear value to customers through consultative selling, product demonstrations, solution/equipment selection and the preparation of accurate, competitive proposals that meet customer needs while protecting the company’s interests. /p h3Detailed Duties And Responsibilities /h3 ul liDevelop and manage an individual sales plan aligned to territory objectives, including target account selection, lead qualification, pipeline development and accurate forecasting. /li liBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers through proactive contact management, regular customer visits, and structured follow-up using CRM tools. /li liConduct discovery meetings to understand application requirements, technical specifications,



budget constraints and timelines; translate customer needs into a clear value proposition. /li liPlan and deliver compelling product demonstrations (remote and on-site), tailoring presentations to both technical and commercial stakeholders and addressing questions and objections. /li liCoordinate and support evaluations, trials and proof-of-concept activities as needed, ensuring technical feasibility and documenting outcomes to support customer decision-making. /li liSelect and configure appropriate equipment and solution options to meet customer requirements, ensuring compatibility with the customer environment and compliance with relevant standards. /li liPrepare high-quality commercial offers and detailed financial proposals, including pricing, configuration, scope of supply, delivery terms and any service components. /li liCollaborate with internal teams (e.g., applications/engineering, operations and service) to validate technical solutions, confirm availability and lead times, and ensure an accurate quotation. /li liNegotiate within agreed parameters and manage the opportunity from initial contact through order receipt, including documentation, internal handover and follow-up to secure timely closure. /li liMaintain up-to-date records of customer interactions, opportunities and next steps; provide regular reporting on activity, funnel status and market feedback. /li liRepresent the company at relevant events (e.g.,



customer meetings, seminars and trade shows) and gather competitive and market intelligence to support business strategy. /li liEstimated time allocation: customer technical engagements and account visits (40%), product demonstrations and evaluations (20%), new account prospecting and business development (20%), application consulting and technical proposal preparation (10%), training, CRM updates and internal coordination (10%). /li /ul h3Required Education, Skills And Experience /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. /li liMinimum of two years’ experience selling technical products/solutions. /li liDemonstrated ability to learn complex technical concepts quickly, adapt to changing priorities and work effectively within a team. /li liStrong customer-facing skills with the energy and professionalism to develop and manage key accounts. /li liProficient with Microsoft Windows-based tools (e.g., Office applications) and comfortable working with CRM (SFDC) systems to plan activities, track opportunities and organize work effectively. /li liFluent written and spoken Italian and English is required. /li liPossibility to travel within the area, and on occasions outside the area. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 pMaster’s degree, relevant sales training/certification, and knowledge of the Italian Test Measurement market. /p pTeledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
