ppWe are seeking an iGaming Platform Quality Engineer to join our team on a contractual basis. The role is fully remote, with occasional travel required to our headquarters in Málaga, Spain. /p pThis is 6 months extendable contract and applicants must operate through a fully registered limited company to be considered for this role. /p h3THE ROLE /h3 pWe build the backend platforms and services that power our iGaming products and connect our games to operators, aggregators, suppliers, and other external partners. /p pAs an iGaming Platform Quality Engineer, you'll be embedded within our Backend Platform capability, owning quality across the lifecycle of platform services, common iGaming features, and operator and vendor integrations. /p pYou'll work at the intersection of backend engineering, platform architecture, product, integration engineering, and regulatory requirements — ensuring our services and integrations are functionally correct, resilient, scalable, observable, and production-ready. /p pQuality is built in from the start. You'll work closely with engineers to define test strategies early, automate validation wherever practical, and establish quality gates that provide fast feedback throughout the SDLC. /p h3WHAT YOU'LL DO /h3 ul liOwn test strategy and quality assurance for backend platform services, common iGaming capabilities, operator integrations, vendor/supplier integrations, and platform changes. /li liDesign and execute API, integration, end-to-end, regression, and contract testing across services and external integrations. /li liValidate common iGaming platform features such as game launch, session management, player authentication, wallet interactions, bet/win transactions, game configuration, limits, currencies, languages, and jurisdiction-specific behaviour /li liTest operator and aggregator integrations, validating request/response flows, authentication, configuration, error handling, transaction integrity, retries, idempotency, and integration-specific behaviour. /li liValidate third-party and vendor integrations, ensuring external dependencies behave correctly across happy paths, failure scenarios, degraded services, timeouts, and unexpected responses. /li liBuild and maintain automated API and integration regression suites using Playwright and other appropriate testing tools , providing rapid feedback on critical platform and integration journeys. /li liWork closely with developers to adopt a shift-left and zero-defect mindset, reviewing requirements, specifications, acceptance criteria, API contracts, and technical designs before implementation begins. /li liUse AI-assisted quality engineering to accelerate test strategy creation, test-case generation, automation, exploratory testing,
and defect/root-cause analysis while maintaining engineering judgement and appropriate validation. /li liValidate data integrity and transactional consistency across distributed services, particularly where player balances, bets, wins, refunds, rollbacks, or other financial transactions are involved. /li liTest platform resilience by validating scenarios including service failures, timeouts, retries, duplicate requests, partial failures, dependency failures, and recovery behaviour /li liSupport performance and scalability testing for critical APIs and platform services, identifying potential bottlenecks and degradation under load. /li liEnsure appropriate logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting exist for critical journeys so failures can be detected, diagnosed, and resolved effectively in production. /li liIntegrate automated tests and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines, defining clear pass/fail criteria for API, integration, regression, smoke, and other appropriate automated checks. /li liSupport release and production assurance through risk-based testing, pre-release validation, post-deployment sanity checks, and production verification /li liParticipate in architecture/design reviews, refinement, and planning, raising testability, operability, resilience, and quality concerns early and contributing to Definition of Done standards. /li liCollaborate with Engineering, Product, Service Operations, Compliance, operators, and external suppliers to investigate and resolve integration and production issues. /li /ul h3REQUIRED SKILLS /h3 h3Core Quality Engineering /h3 pTest Strategy Risk-Based Testing Regression Testing Exploratory Testing Defect Lifecycle Root Cause Analysis Shift-Left Quality /p h3Backend API Testing /h3 pREST APIs HTTP JSON API Contracts Authentication API Testing Integration Testing Contract Testing /p h3Automation /h3 pPlaywright API Automation Integration Testing Automated Regression CI/CD Integration Test Data Management Mocking / Service Virtualisation /p h3Platform Engineering /h3 pDistributed Systems Fundamentals Microservices Databases Messaging / Event-Driven Systems Logging Monitoring Observability /p h3iGaming Domain /h3 pGame Lifecycle Player Sessions Wallets Bet/Win Transactions Game Configuration Operator Integrations Aggregators / Suppliers Regulatory Considerations /p h3Engineering Practices /h3 pBDD TDD Awareness CI/CD Shift-Left Testing Zero-Defect Mindset Agile Software Delivery /p h3NICE TO HAVE /h3 ul liExperience testing backend platforms in regulated iGaming, payments, fintech, or other high-transaction environments. /li liUnderstanding of iGaming wallet and transactional flows, including debit, credit, rollback, refunds, retries, duplicate transactions, and idempotency. /li liExperience with contract testing and API automation frameworks. /li liExperience testing event-driven architectures, queues, or messaging platforms. /li liKnowledge of performance/load testing and the ability to interpret service performance metrics. /li liExperience with cloud-based platforms and services such as AWS. /li liUnderstanding of observability tooling, including logs, metrics, distributed tracing, dashboards, and alerting. /li liExperience working directly with operators, aggregators, game suppliers, or other third-party integrations. /li liScripting or development experience in a language such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar. /li liExperience applying AI tools to quality engineering and test automation. /li /ul h3WHO YOU ARE /h3 ul liQuality is an engineering responsibility to you — you don't see testing as something that happens after development is complete. /li liYou think beyond the happy path and naturally ask: What happens if this service is unavailable? What happens if the request is duplicated? What happens if an operator responds slowly? /li liYou understand that in iGaming, seemingly small backend defects can affect player experience, financial transactions, operators, regulatory compliance, and revenue. /li liYou're automation-minded and look for opportunities to turn repetitive validation into reliable, maintainable automated tests. /li liYou're comfortable investigating issues across multiple systems using APIs, logs, data, metrics, and traces, rather than treating the system as a black box. /li liYou're collaborative by nature and work closely with backend engineers, platform engineers, product teams, integration teams, Service Operations, and external partners. /li liYou're comfortable working with ambiguity and can translate complex platform or integration requirements into a clear, risk-based test strategy. /li liYou're a clear communicator who writes precise defect reports, explains risk effectively, and constructively challenges requirements or designs when quality concerns arise. xysqume /li liMost importantly, you have a zero-defect mindset: you continuously look for ways to prevent defects rather than simply finding them later. /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
