SENIOR OPTICAL LASER SPECIALIST WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW€35,000 – €45,000North Vicenza, ItalyPermanentHands-on R&D environmentDirect impact on laser system performanceJOB DETAILSThis role sits within an R&D environment focused on laser-based systems used in high-precision industrial applications.The focus is on optical performance, testing, and validation, working directly with laser systems in a lab-based setting.You will act as the internal specialist for optical setup, testing, and optimisation, ensuring laser systems perform reliably when integrated into real-world applications.This is a practical, hands-on role, not a purely theoretical or simulation-based position.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and optimise laser optical setups and beam pathsWork hands-on with optical tables, test benches, and lab instrumentationPerform alignment, calibration,
and validation of optical systemsDefine and execute testing procedures for laser performanceTroubleshoot and improve system behaviour through experimental workSupport integration of validated optical systems into wider platformsCollaborate with engineering teams to ensure performance in real applicationsESSENTIAL EXPERIENCEHands-on experience with laser optical systemsExperience working in lab environments (optical tables / test benches)Strong understanding of beam behaviour, alignment, and calibrationPractical troubleshooting and experimental mindsetExperience validating and testing optical performanceQUALIFICATIONSA degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics, Photonics or a related fieldExtensive hands-on experience in the design, optimisation and troubleshooting of laser optical systemsStrong practical experience working with optical tables, test benches and laboratory instrumentationProven ability to align, calibrate and validate laser and optical systems in real-world environmentsSolid understanding of beam behaviour, optical paths and system performance optimisationExperience translating theoretical optical principles into practical, working systems
