Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Software Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Genoa.

Responsibilities

- Support the proper requirements management (identification & apportionment between GA and SA) for all the phases of the software lifecycle according to company standard processes (IMS).
- Contribute to the design and the implementation of a complete solution (Modules, documentation and tools), applying company standard processes (IMS).
- Contribute to the correct operation of the SW on the applicable platforms.




- Provide the proper level of support to the other functional units (RAMS, Verification, Test & Commissioning, etc.).
- Apply common methodologies, technical solutions and best practices in coherence with the Development function, following company standard processes (IMS).

Required Skills/Knowledge

- 3-5 years of experience in the software developer life-cycle.
- Experience building enterprise class, multi-process, fault tolerant load balanced and multi-tiered systems.
- Expert level C++ programming skills leveraging advanced language constructs.
- Experience with Object-Oriented Design principles and patterns.
- Extensive knowledge developing software in Linux, including shell scripting.
- Strong diagnostic and analytical skills.
- Experience with continuous integration, static code analysis, branching and versioning, and DevOps.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Balance speed and quality without compromising standards.
- Team player who can also work independently.
- Lifelong learner who shares knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience implementing and sustaining mission critical enterprise systems.

Education and Qualifications: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electronics, Telecommunications, or Automation Engineering, or Informatics.

Languages: English at upper intermediate level required. Alla posizione si applica il vigente CCNL per l’industria metalmeccanica privata e l’installazione di impianti, con inquadramento nel livello B2, ai sensi della relativa disciplina di classificazione del personale.
