With $6.9 billion in sales, a strong customer base and global reach spanning nearly 70 countries, we are uniquely positioned to deliver greater value to our customers and create new opportunities for our people.

We are now looking for a Process Excellence Leader EMEA in Cluj-Napoca, Romania!

Own CI methodology consistency and excellence across EMEA — ensuring rigorous application of Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, A3, and 8D across the Hub’s project portfolio and Spoke operations. Coach and certify Black Belt and Green Belt practitioners, lead complex cross-functional problem-solving initiatives, and assure project quality through structured tollgate governance.

Position

Vertiv EMEA’s CI capability as a recognized internal centre of excellence aligned to Danaher Business System and GE Operating System standards.

Why This Role Exists

- EMEA project portfolio spans diverse geographies, functions, and maturity levels - methodology consistency is critical to sustained financial benefit delivery.
- Black Belt and Green Belt practitioners require expert coaching and certification standards that cannot be fulfilled by Spoke-level CI Leads alone.
- Tollgate governance requires an independent, credible expert to challenge project rigour, statistical validity, and benefit sustainability.
- Hub’s ambition to reach CI maturity Level 4–5 demands a dedicated methodology owner operating at a strategic level.

Key Responsibilities Pillar 1: Methodology Ownership &

- Standards

- Define, own, and continuously improve the EMEA CI methodology framework encompassing Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, A3, and 8D.
- Ensure consistent application of methodology standards across all Spoke CI Leads and project teams.
- Develop and maintain a CI playbook library: process templates, tollgate checklists, statistical guidelines, and project charters.
- Align EMEA methodology standards with Vertiv global CI governance and best practices from analogous systems (Danaher DBS, GE OES).
- Conduct periodic methodology audits at Spokes to identify gaps and embed corrective coaching.

Pillar 2: Coaching &
- Certification

- Coach and certify Black Belt candidates through project-based certification programs aligned to ASQ / IASSC standards.

- Provide hands-on project coaching to Green Belt practitioners at critical project phases (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control).
- Mentor Spoke CI Leads on advanced analytical methods, hypothesis testing, regression, and DOE.
- Maintain certification standards, assessment rubrics, and benefit validation criteria consistent across EMEA.
- Build and manage a structured BB pipeline to ensure succession and depth of CI capability at each Spoke.

Pillar 3: Project Quality Assurance &
- Tollgate Governance

- Own the tollgate review process across the EMEA project portfolio: quality-gate each project at defined phase transitions.
- Ensure statistical validity, benefit quantification accuracy, and root cause riguour at each tollgate.
- Maintain a project health dashboard tracking stage distribution, benefit realization, and stall/at-risk projects.
- Escalate and resolve project blockers in partnership with CI Director and Spoke business leaders.
- Verify vantaggi sustainability at 6-month and 12-month post-implementation reviews; flag recurrence and embed control plan improvements.

Pillar 4: Advanced Problem Solving
- Lead complex, cross-functional DMAIC investigations that exceed the scope or analytical capability of individual Spoke CI Leads.
- Facilitate structured root cause analysis (8D, Fishbone, 5-Why, FTA) on critical quality, cost, or operational issues escalated from the business.
- Apply advanced statistical methods (regression, ANOVA, hypothesis testing, SPC) to drive data-led problem resolution.
- Collaborate with Process Excellence Leader peers in other Vertiv regions to share methodology innovations and benchmark outcomes.

Must-Have Qualifications

- Certified Master Black Belt (ASQ, IASSC, or equivalent corporate program)
- 10+ years of applied Lean Six Sigma experience in multi-site or complex operational environments
- Demonstrated track record building CI capability from early maturity to sustained high performance
- Proven experience designing and delivering BB/GB certification program
- Experience with transactional and service lean — not solely manufacturing contexts

- Strong executive presence and ability to influence without direct authority
- Fluent English required; additional EMEA language advantageous

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience operating within or benchmarking against Danaher Business System (DBS) or GE Operating System
- Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and DMADV methodology
- Lean Enterprise Institute or Shingo Prize affiliation
- Change management certification (Prosci, ACMP, or equivalent)
- Exposure to digital process mining tools (Celonis, ABBYY, or equivalent) as analytical augmentation
