DATA ANALYST | PYTHON, MONGODB & DATA QUALITY | IMMEDIATE START

We're partnering with a large international insurance brokerage that is currently going through a significant period of growth and acquisitions. As the organisation continues to expand, they are looking for a technically strong Data Analyst to support their data quality and analysis activities.

This role would suit a Data Analyst with a strong technical foundation who enjoys working with data, identifying inconsistencies and ensuring information is accurate, reliable and fit for purpose.

The position is particularly focused on data quality and validation , making it more suited to a technically minded Data Analyst than a pure Data Scientist or Data Engineer.

The Role

- Position: Data Analyst
- Contract: Freelance
- Location: Milan area, Italy
- Working Model: Hybrid
- Start Date: ASAP
- Initial Contract: Until the end of 2026
- Potential Extension: Strong possibility of extension through 2027

Working Arrangements The role is primarily based in Milan , with occasional activity in Pescara .

- Monday: Remote
- Tuesday–Thursday: On-site
- Friday: Remote
- During certain project phases, full weeks on-site in Milan may be required

Key Responsibilities

- Analyse and validate large datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency and completeness.
- Identify data quality issues, anomalies, inconsistencies and missing information.
- Investigate the underlying causes of data discrepancies and support their resolution.
- Work with structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources.
- Use Python to analyse, manipulate and validate data.
- Work with JSON data and NoSQL databases.
- Query and analyse data within MongoDB and other NoSQL environments.
- Support data migration, integration and transformation activities where required.




- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Document data issues, findings and quality improvements.
- Contribute to improving data quality processes and standards.

Essential Skills & Experience

- Commercial experience working as a Data Analyst or in a closely related technical data role.
- Strong Python skills for data analysis, manipulation and validation.
- Experience working with JSON .
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB and/or other NoSQL databases .
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine focus on data quality .
- Ability to investigate complex data issues and identify inconsistencies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.

Nice to Have

- Previous experience within insurance, financial services or other data-intensive environments .
- Experience supporting data migration or acquisition-related projects.
- Knowledge of data integration and transformation processes.
- Experience working with APIs and structured/semi-structured data.
- Familiarity with data quality tools, frameworks or governance processes.
