Overview In this role you contribute to a long-term software product, building robust foundations while iterating for the best solution. You work in an open source, internationally distributed company with strong values and a clear vision. You design and implement new features for the Liferay Platform, writing high-quality, maintainable code and managing technical debt. You collaborate with UX designers and product managers to realize the shared vision, and you engage in peer reviews to grow with the team. This is a hands-on role for a passionate coder who thrives in a collaborative, open-source culture.

5 years of experience in software engineering best practices
~ Proficiency in Java, JavaScript (React), Freemarker, SQL
~ Proficient with Git (DVCS) and branching patterns (git-flow, PRs, rebases)
~ English and Italian fluency (written and spoken)
~ Experience contributing to open source, hackathons, or coding meetups (preferred)
~ Familiarity with agile development values and practices
