Quality Surveillance Inspector – Nuclear Industry

As part of the development of its activities, Terys is supporting its client with the reinforcement of its teams and is looking for an experienced Second-Party Surveillance Inspector to monitor manufacturing activities at supplier facilities in Italy. Working directly at the supplier's premises, you will monitor manufacturing progress, review the applicable technical documentation, oversee manufacturing and inspection activities, and report regularly on progress, quality issues and potential deviations. You will act as the interface between the supplier, the Client and the project teams.

Main Responsibilities
- Monitor the progress of supplier orders and manufacturing activities.
- Review the applicable technical and manufacturing documentation.
- Monitor manufacturing processes and activities, including forging, forming, welding, machining, final assembly, heat treatment, inspection and testing.
- Identify, report and follow up on deviations and non-conformities, and provide the Client with regular visibility on manufacturing progress and issues encountered.
- Prepare and issue surveillance reports within 48 hours following each intervention, as well as non-conformity reports and technical alerts when required.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reporting, including physical progress and schedule monitoring.
- Provide technical input to support equipment acceptance and shipment authorisation decisions.
Profile
- Engineering degree or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, materials engineering or an equivalent technical field.
- Significant experience in heavy manufacturing, supplier surveillance, manufacturing inspection or expediting, preferably in the nuclear or another demanding industrial environment.
- Strong experience in welding, machining and metal structure manufacturing, with a good knowledge of applicable standards and codes, particularly ISO and ASME requirements.
- Strong technical skills and the ability to analyse and review technical documentation.
- Familiarity with the requirements applicable to Important to Safety (EIS) equipment would be highly appreciated.
- Ability to work autonomously at supplier premises, coordinate with different stakeholders and maintain clear and regular communication with the Client and project teams.
- Rigorous, analytical and organised, with strong communication and reporting skills. Flexibility is required as the assignment covers three supplier sites and may involve shift or night operations.
- Fluent English is essential, both written and spoken. French is desirable and knowledge of Italian would be an asset. Candidates must be European Union citizens.
