The Cloud Infrastructure Services team provides global advisory, operations, and governance for WFP's cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), building, securing, and scaling world-class platforms. /ph3Job purpose /h3pJob purpose: The Cloud Infrastructure Services Team Lead (P4) will provide technical vision and leadership for the Cloud Infrastructure Services team, reporting to the Chief of Foundational Technology Services. This role is crucial for overseeing the development and implementation of the team’s workplan, acting as the primary representative for WFP’s cloud infrastructure. The Team Lead will drive cloud-native modernization initiatives, present complex IT solutions to governance bodies, and lead the design of robust, scalable cloud-native infrastructure. Key responsibilities include managing FinOps initiatives to optimize cloud spending, partnering with cybersecurity for enhanced security practices, translating technical needs into financial business cases, forecasting infrastructure requirements, and serving as a critical escalation point during high-severity incidents. /ph3Responsibilities /h3pResponsibilities: The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a Team Lead for its Cloud Infrastructure Services team, a critical role in the organization's digital transformation. This position, based at WFP Headquarters in Rome, will provide technical vision and leadership for a team of Cloud Specialists, overseeing the development and implementation of the division’s workplan. The Team Lead will be the primary representative for WFP’s cloud infrastructure,
engaging with the Architectural Board and governance bodies to present and gain endorsement for complex IT solutions. Key responsibilities include leading the design of robust, scalable, and secure cloud-native infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP, and defining the team's growth strategy. The role also involves driving FinOps initiatives to optimize cloud spending, partnering with cybersecurity teams to enhance security practices, and translating technical needs into financial business cases. The Team Lead will forecast future infrastructure requirements, manage the total cost of ownership for cloud environments, and serve as a crucial escalation point during high-severity incidents, ensuring the organization's global operations are supported by world-class cloud platforms. /ph3Education /h3pEducation: An advanced university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first university degree combined with two additional years of relevant work experience is acceptable. /ph3Work experience /h3pWork experience: Requires a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in supporting production applications and/or administering Enterprise IT Services.
