Job Description
Hitachi Rail is looking for a motivated and self-driven Site Supervisor who can thrive in a dynamic environment. The role is based in Genova with availability for business travel across Italy. The SITE SUPERVISOR is the key figure responsible for organizing, managing, and operationally coordinating a construction site, ensuring compliance with timelines, costs, project specifications, and above all, safety and environmental regulations. This role acts as the technical and organizational point of reference among contractors, workers, site management, and the client, overseeing materials, personnel, and resolving critical issues.
Accountabilities
Planning and Organization
Responsible for site setup, workflow planning, process management, weekly, monthly, and quarterly scheduling, allocation of equipment and machinery, and reporting.
Coordination
Supervises personnel and subcontractors, ensuring integration and safety.
Safety (Legislative Decree 81/08)
Ensures compliance with the Safety and Coordination Plan (PSC) and the Operational Safety Plan (POS) by all companies, monitors the use of safety devices, and implements preventive measures. Acts as an interface with the Safety Coordinator (CSE).
Technical and Contractual Management
Liaises with the Site Manager, monitors execution according to project specifications,
manages relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, prepares schedules and reports, and oversees work accounting.
Quality and Environment
Ensures compliance with quality standards and environmental regulations by all companies, monitoring adherence to current legislation.
Resource and Equipment Management
Controls materials (procurement and receipt), manages human resources and contractors, and optimizes the use of available resources and equipment.
Problem Solving
Identifies and promptly addresses technical, operational, or logistical issues to prevent delays.
Work Progress Certification
Responsible for accounting progress and authorizing monthly work progress statements (SAL).
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Proven experience in site supervision, ideally in signalling, infrastructure, or construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations (Legislative Decree 81/08).
- Experience managing contractors and subcontractors.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation and project specifications.
- Availability for national business travel.
Desired Skills / Knowledge
- Previous experience in the railway sector.
- Familiarity with work progress accounting processes (SAL).
- Knowledge of quality and environmental procedures.
Education / Qualifications
- Technical diploma or bachelor's degree in a technical field (Engineering, Surveying, or equivalent).
- Certifications related to safety or site management.
Languages
- Italian: Fluent (Required).
- English: Basic to Intermediate (Preferred).
Alla posizione si applica il vigente CCNL per l’industria metalmeccanica privata e l’installazione di impianti, con inquadramento nel livello C3, ai sensi della relativa disciplina di classificazione del personale.
Retribuzione annua lorda compresa tra 31.000€ e 36.000€.
