Fleet Services plays a critical role in ensuring the City's extensive fleet of vehicles, plant and equipment are safe, reliable and available to support service delivery across the organisation. The team is committed to maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, operational performance and customer service while delivering cost-effective solutions for the City.

About the role

As the Supervisor Satellite Workshops, you'll lead and coordinate our satellite workshop operations, including teams at Pimpama Workshop, Carrara Auto Electrics and Communications, and Fleet Plant Inspectors.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for ensuring your teams deliver safe, efficient and cost-effective repairs, maintenance and modifications to the City's fleet assets.

You'll manage weekly work schedules and respond to unplanned or break-in work, balancing competing priorities to keep workshop operations running smoothly and achieve the goals of the Fleet Business Plan.

Working closely with the broader Fleet team, you'll drive performance, support continuous improvement and ensure high standards of safety and quality across all workshop activities.

In this role you'll

- Lead and supervise workshop teams across Pimpama, Carrara Auto Electrics and Communications, and Fleet Plant Inspectors
- Manage weekly work schedules and coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
- Ensure the safe, efficient and cost-effective delivery of fleet repairs, maintenance and modification services.
- Monitor, achieve and report on performance targets and key performance indicators.
- Ensure the safety and quality of work performed across your teams.
- Manage workshop resources and business processes to support effective service delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance management systems and workshop processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve fleet performance, utilisation and whole-of-life value.
- Apply your trade skills and technical knowledge to support workshop activities when required.




- Participate in the Fleet Maintenance after-hours duty roster.
- Build strong working relationships across Fleet to support operational and business objectives.

We’re looking for people who have:

We're looking for an experienced trade professional and people leader who can balance hands-on technical knowledge with strong leadership and operational management skills.

You will have

- Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Road Transport – Mechanical Trade or an equivalent qualification with relevant experience.
- Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or equivalent relevant experience.
- Current unrestricted Class C Driver Licence – Mandatory (HR Drivers Licence would be highly desirable)
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card) (highly desirable or willingness to obtain if successful)
- Approved Examiner Queensland Transport – LV, HV LT & HT (highly desirable)
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising workshop, maintenance or operational teams.
- Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance, repairs and workshop operations.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety and quality outcomes.
- Experience managing work schedules, resources and competing priorities in a busy operational environment.
- The ability to monitor performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative and hands-on leadership style with the ability to support, develop and motivate your team.
