Primary Purpose The Wireless Network Engineer IV is a senior-level engineer responsible for enterprise wireless engineering, design review, validation, standards, and technical oversight. This role serves as the wireless subject-matter expert, ensuring internal and partner-developed solutions align with approved enterprise architecture and meet standards for RF coverage, capacity, security, performance, resiliency, scalability, and operational supportability.

The role provides technical leadership across the wireless lifecycle, including design review, implementation standards, performance optimization, lifecycle management, automation, monitoring, and complex troubleshooting, while supporting broader enterprise networking initiatives as needed.

Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Own and maintain enterprise wireless engineering standards, approved configurations, implementation requirements, and technical design criteria in alignment with established enterprise architecture.
- Review, validate, and approve enterprise wireless network designs developed by internal teams and external partners.
- Evaluate wireless designs for RF coverage, capacity, roaming, interference, security, scalability, resiliency, and performance.
- Review and approve site surveys, predictive designs, heat maps, access point placement, capacity models, and related implementation documentation.
- Establish wireless design criteria and provide technical direction to partners, project teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Serve as the internal subject-matter expert for enterprise wireless engineering, technologies, standards, and best practices.
- Provide technical governance and evaluate exceptions to established wireless standards and reference architectures.
- Engineer and support enterprise wireless management, monitoring, assurance, and troubleshooting capabilities using Aruba Central.




- Use and support Cisco Catalyst Center for network visibility, assurance, automation, analytics, and troubleshooting.
- Lead wireless capacity planning, performance tuning, RF optimization, lifecycle planning, and resiliency testing.
- Develop and support automation for configuration deployment, validation, compliance, monitoring, and operational workflows.
- Support enterprise network security practices including segmentation, secure wireless access, authentication, role-based access, and zero-trust principles.
- Lead technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex wireless and network incidents.
- Coordinate with Network Operations, Security, Infrastructure, vendors, and managed service partners during major incidents and problem-management activities.
- Evaluate new wireless technologies, platforms, features, and capabilities and make recommendations for enterprise adoption.
- Support broader enterprise networking initiatives involving LAN/WAN, routing, switching, network services, and network operations as needed.
- Mentor engineers, provide technical leadership, and contribute to the development of engineering skills across the team.
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, implementation requirements, technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks.
- May be called upon to support critical escalations and must be available during urgent IT incidents as needed.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
- 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience, including significant experience focused on wireless engineering, design, architecture, and support.
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise wireless technologies, including RF fundamentals, coverage and capacity planning, roaming, interference, channel planning, authentication, security, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing, validating, and approving large-scale enterprise wireless designs, including partner-developed solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Aruba wireless technologies and Aruba Central.




- Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center and Cisco enterprise networking technologies.
- Strong understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, network segmentation, authentication, and enterprise network security.
- Experience with automation or scripting for network configuration, validation, compliance, or operational workflows.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to lead resolution of complex technical problems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to provide technical direction across internal teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with wireless survey and design platforms such as Ekahau, Hamina, AirMagnet, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting large-scale, distributed, multi-site enterprise wireless environments.
- Aruba, Cisco, CWNP, or equivalent advanced wireless certifications.
- Experience with location services, wireless analytics, IoT connectivity, and advanced wireless assurance capabilities.
- Experience with software-defined networking, APIs, automation, and network telemetry.
- Familiarity with zero-trust networking and identity-based network access.
- Experience providing technical governance and oversight of managed service providers and third-party engineering partners.

Salary Range NC: $146,960 - $220,440

Actual compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on their unique qualifications and experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Final compensation decisions will be made in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
