Job purpose
Job purpose: The Information Associate (G-6) position in UNICEF's Evaluation Office in Rome supports the enhancement of evaluation communication and utilization. The role involves providing comprehensive procedural, administrative, secretarial, and operational support. Key functions include content development, digital communication, visual communication, and engagement activities, all conducted in alignment with UNICEF's mission, rules, and procedures. This role is crucial for ensuring that evaluation evidence is accessible, understood, and applied effectively within and outside the organization, contributing to UNICEF's commitment to evidence-based programming and accountability for children's rights and well-being.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities: The Information Associate is responsible for maintaining UNICEF’s evaluation function's knowledge exchange platforms, including the Evaluation Reports Database, Evaluation website, SharePoint sites, Community of Practice, and social media channels (LinkedIn, X, BlueSky, YouTube). This involves identifying user needs, researching relevant information, and continuously updating and managing these platforms. Additionally,
the Associate supports initiatives to strengthen the uptake of evaluation evidence by maintaining a roster of copyeditors, translators, designers, and photographers, ensuring evaluation products are properly prepared and disseminated through innovative channels. The role also includes providing research support, such as document searches and compiling background materials. Furthermore, the Associate assists in monitoring and reporting on the uptake of evaluation evidence by researching best practices and lessons learned, and collaborating with the supervisor to design a monitoring framework for evidence utilization. The position may also involve other related duties as required.
Education
Education: Completion of secondary education is required. Technical or university courses in communication, media engagement, and/or international relations are desirable.
Work experience
Work experience: A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical work experience is required. Experience with Knowledge Management, Content Strategy, SharePoint, and Social Media Management is required. Experience in research assistance, communication, and advocacy is a distinct asset. Experience within UNICEF or the broader UN system is desirable.
