The candidate for Wafer Fab Process Engineer position will support process characterization and optimization across core wafers-chips fabrication technologies. The role includes Device & Product Configuration responsibilities — managing product definitions, coordinating engineering change notices (ECNs), and ensuring full alignment between design intent, manufacturing execution, and released documentation.
Job Responsibilities:
- As Process Engineer is responsible to supervise /support Wafer Fab manufacturing areas, to develop new industrial processes and maintain / improve existing ones, collaborate and provide technical advice to R&D; and manufacturing teams to guarantee product quality, product cost and manufacturing efficiency.
- Investigate and perform troubleshooting analysis on possible process / product problems
- Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) to improve process capability and robustness, driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Setup / maintain Statistical Process Control approach to improve yield and rework rate
- Involved in qualification and acceptance of new wafer fabrication equipment, developing qualification plans, including IQ/OQ/PQ activities.
- Liaise with installation/maintenance team and specialists for equipment upgrade and calibration
- Work with EHS representative to ensure safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety legislation
- Maintain and release product configuration baselines, supports in change controls, ensure traceability from design rules/PDK to fab processes, metrology plans, and test limits.
- Responsible to release and maintain process documentation related to covered areas, specifically work instruction necessary for NPI transfer to manufacturing and for process control.
- Perform manufacturing operators’ training
Job Requirements & Soft Skills:
- Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Electronic, Material), Physics or Chemistry
- Experience in wafer fab processes and manufacturing (nanotechnologies or semiconductor industry)
- Good attitude to team working and proactively interact with all function and levels
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Knowledge of process validation procedures and techniques, e.g. process and product FMEA, basic six sigma concepts like capability studies and SPC is a plus
- Competent with Microsoft Office applications and statistical tools
- Availability to travel
