Trade Marketing Director Italy
Reporting to the General Manager and being part of the Italian Leadership Team, the candidate will define and execute the end-to-end Commercial Excellence, from Category to Channels to RGM (Revenue Growth Management) - assortment, mix, price, promo, trade investment - strategy and plans, ensuring a fully integrated approach and supporting the Account Management team for their talks and negotiations with the Trade. The candidate will elevate team capabilities, embedding a strong performance and data-driven culture across the organization.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and drive the Commercial Excellence strategy, aligning category growth, RGM and channels development, with business objectives
- Lead the RGM agenda end-to-end: assortment and mix, pricing strategy, promotional effectiveness, trade investment optimization, and margin enhancement
- Ensure best-in-class guidance for commercial execution across channels, including distribution, assortment, space, and Perfect Store principles
- Partner with Account Management to shape customer strategies and joint Business Plans, integrating Category, Channel and RGM levers into negotiations
- Own the Commercial Excellence & RGM contribution to S&OP; and business planning, identifying risks, opportunities,
and growth levers
- Drive performance management and governance, ensuring rigorous tracking of revenue, margin, and trade ROI
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing Commercial Excellence and RGM organization
- Act as a key cross-functional leader, influencing Account Management, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain decisions
Candidate profile:
- Master’s Degree in Economics, Marketing and/or Management
- 10+ years of experience in Commercial Excellence/Category, Trade Marketing and Sales in FMCG sector (Food and Non-Food)
- Proven track record in driving profitable growth and leading high-performing teams
- Strong expertise in RGM: assortment, pricing, promotions, trade investment, and commercial analytics
- Solid understanding of retail and shopper dynamics
- Strategic mindset combined with strong execution and influencing skills
- Fluent English
- Strong leadership skills: a people developer and team builder with the ability to communicate effectively and deal with different stakeholders
- A commercial leader with strong ownership and impact
- Good at navigating ambiguity and uncertainty
- Data-driven and performance-focused
- Collaborative, agile, and results-oriented
Location: Milan, with possibility of hybrid working
Compensation Package:
Compensation package includes an annual gross salary starting from €100,000, Dirigente status, MBO and a company car.
