This is a greenfield deployment phase, which requires our founding leadership team to manage high operational fluidity, establish local processes from the ground up, and translate centralized global capabilities into localized execution. /ppThis position is designed for an agile, data-driven transport professional who will take control of our real-time dispatch desk, ensuring that every vehicle movement across our Milan network is optimized for cost, timing, and capacity from Day One. /ppbThe Mission Core Scope /b /pulliThe Mission: Establish, lead, and run the 24/7 transportation dispatch and routing operation, ensuring seamless middle-mile execution between ports, the main fulfillment centers, and last-mile delivery stations. /liliThe Scope:
You will directly manage the dispatching team and routing analysts, oversee real-time scheduling, coordinate carrier departures/arrivals, and solve immediate transit bottlenecks across the Milan regional network. /li /ulpbCrucial Expectations Performance Targets /b /ppTo provide a clear understanding of the accountability required, the successful candidate will be evaluated on the following key metrics during the initial 6 to 12 months: /pulliDispatch Desk Architecture: Set up the real-time routing, tracking, and communication protocols for the dispatch team, turning high-level transport plans into flawless daily execution. /liliCarrier Departure SLA Compliance: Maintain a near-perfect On-Time Departure (OTD) and On-Time Arrival (OTA) rate for all linehauls and inbound shipments, mitigating tracking gaps immediately. /liliCost Capacity Optimization: Maximize vehicle cube utilization and route efficiency, minimizing empty miles and managing spot-market carrier requests effectively under tight budget limits. /liliReal-Time Exception Management: Establish clear escalation pathways to instantly handle transit disruptions (e.g., driver delays, vehicle breakdowns, road closures), keeping all downstream operations fully informed.
/li /ulpbPosition Requirements /b /pulliGreenfield Launch Expertise: You must have a verified background working within a fast-paced transport control tower or dispatch desk launch environment, ideally for an express parcel network, e-commerce giant, or major freight forwarder. /liliTechnical Systems Mastery: Strong, hands-on experience working with Transport Management Systems (TMS), real-time GPS tracking tools, and dynamic routing software. /liliLanguage Proficiency: Professional fluency in English and Italian is mandatory to manage local carriers, direct dispatchers, and coordinate technical requirements with global HQ.
