Activities include crisis monitoring and response, satellite-based emergency mapping, disaster early-warning systems, risk analytics and geospatial intelligence. /ppbr / /ppYou will work within a specialist geospatial team delivering analysis and assessments that support stronginternational crisis response, civil protection, security and humanitarian decision-making /strong. /ppbr / /ppstrongThe role /strong /ppYou will turn satellite imagery, conflict-event datasets and heterogeneous open-source information into reliable GIS datasets, high-quality maps, interactive visualisations and timely analytical reports. /ppThe role combines strongadvanced spatial analysis and Earth observation /strong with crisis monitoring, GIS automation, data-quality management and the development of digital geospatial information platforms. /ppbr / /ppstrongKey responsibilities /strong /pulliDesign and deliver high-quality situation maps, thematic mapping products, geographical visualisations and analytical outputs relating to crisis, conflict and security. /liliMonitor crisis, conflict and security developments, systematically selecting, collecting, validating, analysing and integrating open-source information into geospatial datasets. /liliApply advanced geoprocessing, spatial statistics and modelling techniques to produce geospatial assessments and support crisis reporting. /liliProcess and analyse remote-sensing and Earth-observation imagery in conflict-affected and disaster-affected areas, including land-use/land-cover classification, change detection, damage assessment and reconstruction monitoring. /liliCombine text, imagery, statistics and other open-source material into actionable strongOSINT/GEOINT /strong, structured GIS datasets and situational-awareness products. /liliDesign conflict-mapping workflows combining event-based datasets with open-source geospatial information. /liliContribute to the continued development of digital geospatial platforms and information products. /liliSupport platform maintenance, including user-access policies, user-role configurations and platform-usage monitoring. /liliSupport the integration and deployment of strongAI-driven functionality and geospatial large-language-model capabilities /strong within geospatial information platforms. /liliCreate, maintain and curate GIS datasets, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance with metadata and data-model standards.
/liliMaintain and optimise geodatabases, including version control, data lineage and integration with external sources. /liliManage coordinate reference systems, projections and transformations to maintain spatial accuracy across platforms. /liliImplement data-quality checks, validation rules and automated workflows to ensure spatial data is accurate, complete and consistent. /liliDevelop interactive dashboards and story maps using strongPower BI and ArcGIS Online /strong, covering crisis, conflict and policy-related information. /liliSupport geospatial data dissemination through web-mapping technologies, including WFS and enterprise GIS environments. /liliPrepare presentations, analytical reports, technical documentation and emergency reports explaining GIS findings and methodologies. /liliParticipate in crisis-management exercises, providing analytical geospatial products. /liliSupport operational crisis-monitoring and information-management activities, including monitoring incoming information, circulating updates and notifying relevant stakeholders of new developments or activations. /liliContribute to rapid-analysis activities when required. /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongMinimum qualifications and experience /strong /pulliUniversity degree in strongInformation Technology, Geoinformatics, Geography, GIS or a related field /strong, corresponding to strongEQF Level 7 /strong or equivalent. /liliAt least strong15 years of professional IT experience /strong. /liliVery good spoken and written strongEnglish at CEFR B2 level or above /strong. /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongRequired experience /strong /ppstrongAt least 15 years of proven experience in: /strong /pulliGIS methodologies, tools and platforms such as strongArcGIS or QGIS /strong, including spatial analysis and converting scientific data into static and interactive maps, dashboards and infographics. /liliData transformation, enrichment, quality assurance, dissemination and visualisation within a GIS environment. /liliAdvanced processing, integration and analysis of strongEarth-observation data /strong, including photo-interpretation of very-high-resolution imagery in disaster scenarios. /lilistrongOpen-source and geospatial intelligence (OSINT/GEOINT) /strong, including collecting, validating and integrating heterogeneous sources such as text, imagery, social-media feeds and statistical datasets into coherent GIS layers and situational-awareness products. /liliProcessing and analysing strongsecurity and conflict data /strong, including producing rapid situation maps to support situational awareness. /li /ulpstrongAt least 10 years of proven experience in: /strong /pullistrongPython programming and automation /strong for automated GIS pipelines. /liliDrafting technical documentation, analytical reports,
