ph3Who we are /h3 pWe are seeking a hands-on Java Software Architect to lead the assessment, modernisation, and migration of enterprise Java applications. This role requires a strong technical leader who can define and execute modernisation strategies, address platform compatibility challenges, and leverage AI-assisted engineering practices to accelerate application assessment, code remediation, testing, and delivery. /p pThe role involves providing technical leadership, guiding development teams, managing technical risks, and supporting project planning and implementation from both architectural and engineering perspectives. Working closely with stakeholders, architects, engineering teams, and project managers, the successful candidate will drive large enterprise application Java EAP migration initiatives and ensure successful modernisation outcomes that deliver measurable business value. /p h3What you’ll be doing /h3 ul liLead architecture assessment, modernisation planning, and migration of enterprise Java applications /li liDefine and drive the technical architecture and implementation approach for complex Java-based enterprise applications /li liAssess application dependencies, frameworks, integrations, infrastructure components, and security controls to identify migration impacts and remediation requirements /li liDesign scalable, resilient, secure, and high-performing systems using Java and modern architectural patterns /li liEstablish architectural standards, design principles, coding guidelines, and technology best practices covering security, scalability, maintainability, performance, and supportability /li liDefine migration patterns for Java/Jakarta EE compatibility, library upgrades, API replacements, and application server modernisation /li liCreate architecture diagrams, technical specifications, solution designs, and migration runbooks /li liProvide hands-on architectural and technical guidance to development teams throughout implementation /li liProactively identify technical risks, compatibility issues, dependencies, and blockers and drive them toward resolution /li liLead technical discussions with client architects, application teams, infrastructure,



security, database, QA, and DevOps teams /li liDesign and implement integration solutions using REST APIs, messaging platforms, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integration patterns /li liSupport troubleshooting of complex issues and provide architectural recommendations and solutions /li liSupport technical estimation, implementation planning, design reviews, architecture governance, and technical decision-making /li liLeverage AI-assisted development and modernisation tools for application discovery, code analysis, remediation, testing, documentation, and impact assessment /li liDefine AI-assisted engineering practices, quality controls, and governance to ensure AI-generated outputs are validated, secure, and production-ready /li liMentor developers and technical leads, promoting engineering excellence and technical best practices /li /ul h3What you’ll bring along /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in Informatics/ or similar field of study/or equivalent working experience is required /li li12+ years of IT experience with significant experience in Java application development, architecture, and technical leadership /li liProven track record leading complex application modernisation, migration, or transformation initiatives /li liExperience delivering enterprise-scale programs involving multiple applications, development teams, and stakeholders /li liExperience working in large and complex enterprise environments with mission-critical applications /li /ul h3What’s in it for you /h3 pNew beginnings can be a challenge.
